Flushed Antifreeze, now fan won't spin, and heat doesn't work

Did I just break the car?

I followed the instructions here: https://mbworld.org/forums/c-class-w...rain-fill.html

Except, after flushing out resevoir with water house, once it stopped dripping, I turned the car on and put the heat on max for about 5 minutes, like someone in the thread had mentioned to flush out the heater core.

Looks like I made a huge mistake huh? The heat doesn't work, and the fan won't start spinning even when engine temp reaches 100 Celcius.

I'm stuck guys, really stuck. Any opinions would be much appreciated.

My guess is that air is trapped in the system. When the car is cool, open the coolant reservoir cap and leave it open and start the car and let the car warm, once the car reaches certain temp (around 87 or 90 degrees), thermostat will open and let the coolant circulate around the cooling system. Since the reservoir is at the highest point, the water bubbles should perk up in the reservoir. After the air is purged, put the cap on the reservoir.

Check your thermostat. Make sure it is placed correctly. Also, no connections were damaged or wet during your flushing and refill process?

That's all I can think of.

Boy do I feel retarded.

Apparently the car has to be gassed, driven around the block, so the coolant and crap can start flowing.

It's fine now fellas...just had to take her for a spin and get the insides moving.

Mods please delete this thread and excuse my stupidity if possible.

Thanks.

Thankfully this did not happen, but thank you for being so prompt with your response pcy.

Don't know where I'd be without you guys and your advice.

Ha, yeah you got to burp the baby.
Typically you leave the top off the tank, turn the engine on till the fan runs, wait till the thermostat opens and you see the water moving through the tank, then like you said drive around the block, top it up and you're good.
I do it every 50K miles or 2 years.

Squeezing hoses can help purge air before starting with cap off.
