Which car are these 19" AMG wheels from?

http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/19-ME...#ht_3541wt_941

Just curious. Ive been having an online love affair with these today...

Aside from that, any opinions?

I had discounted the idea of 19s for the sake of drivability and tires... anyone want to urge me to otherwise stick with the search for 18s?

Those remind me of the 07 E350 rim.

Not exactly the same but almost identical.

That wheel has never been fitted to any Benz I know. It's similar but not the same.

Mercedes OEM wheel is called Denebola and if I remember correctly, was offered as an accessory wheel on the W221 S-Class in a staggered setup.

19" wheels screw up the ride comfort big time due to low profile tyres. Don't let people tell you this is not true. Some don't mind & that is fine.

19" just look too damn sexy. Upside is with lowpro you get better performance downside is you risk damaging your tires more quickly and maybe bending your rim.

19x8.5 (235/35/19)
19x9.5 (265/30/19)

On the 9.5 you can even go 275 but depends on the offset and if you are going to rub.

Karo I'm not through with you yet, so...

How is your "ride quality"?

All my driving is in the Kansas City metro... so, mostly smooth highways and suburban streets... some of downtown around school has pavement older than dirt, so there's some potholes to dodge, but nothing that I would think to stop me from buying the wheels I want...
so, what say you?

Oh, and is 35 offset front and back on 19 8.5 and 19 9.5 acceptable or will either/or require spacer?

35 offset is fine - just. Your closest point of trouble is clearance with the front strut dimple. Max front tyre size 235 or it will rub on the strut. I've test fitted 245 - they touch with Michelin PS2.

THanks Glyn!

Hey, off topic, but is your signature image near where you live? South Africa is on me and the wife's list of places to go, and that looks just beautiful.

I'll just say this and maybe it can answer your other questions as well. Ride quality sucks...HUGE difference from my stock 17" to the 19". I also feel that tires matters in comfort as well. I have to be cautious of every little crack on the road. I have to constantly keep an eye out for potholes. If I hit a big pothole my sidewall starts to crack or I get bubbles. But I believe this would be the same for 18" too?

Yep! That is what I look at every day. In fact the photo is from my next-door neighbour's patio. Stole it from him. Too lazy to take my own. If you go 19" fit a tyre with a soft sidewall like Michelin.

Some more pics. We live in a very beautiful country. That's why I came home after many years abroad.

Those are amazing views. Is there a town situated inland from what looks to be just homes on the hillside? What is the native population #? Is there any hotel or resort industry right there? I would go there in a heartbeat... we love the ocean, and you not only have that but that beautiful terrain. Do your seasonal temps fluxuate? And Glyn, let me know if I'm being too intrusive, but are you retired or do you still work?

No problems. I'm retired & still consult to the oil industry. Cape Town is the City. Llandudno is 16 minutes from the city centre. It is a full facility modern city with hotels in all categories & a great nightlife. We have just hosted the World Cup soccer here. Population is approx 4 million. Cape Town has a Mediterranean climate. I rate it as one of the worlds three finest coastal cities. The other two being Rio de Janeiro in Brazil & Sydney, Australia.
