Manual Transmission Part Number Help
There are 2 Manual transmission part numbers that show up for a 2002 w203 c230
716.633 and 716.668
I have a 2002 M111 c230 sport coupe and currently has a 716.668 transmission, but is getting some gearbox noise after 230,000 miles.
Does anyone know what the difference is between the two part numbers,(gear ratios, bell housing, sensors ETC) several wrecking yards show both as 02 year manual transmissions but need to know if the .633 will fit correctly or not.
any help would be appreciated.

I found a 716.633 transmission online that has the M111 engine attached to it,It came out of a salvage coupe that does not have the c7 package, and is only a few thousand off on the VIN number from mine....it is a .633, this leads me to believe it is earlier in the year that these were produced, that the bell housing will fit, and other than that I'm not sure what other differences there would be between the two.

well thank you all for the input and many replies! It looks like it works fine and is in the car and drives great, so for future reference when people are searching, let it be known that either part number and transmission will fit and work properly in the manual 2002 vehicles. 716.633 or 716.668
