"annoyance" and "self-righteousness", amoung others...
Javvy
Thanks for the input, that does help.
While the cost and work involved in making them work is a direct turn-off, the wheels themselves actually look really good on the car. As someone had comment, they look better on yours than a w204!
It was funny reading that Matt said he really liked them on your car and now hes saying theyre the ugliest thing he had ever seen... hmm!

Cale - Javvy's car is not a Sport model. To me the Sport models look completely different and those rims would not be appropriate. That said, they are better looking on non-sport 203s than they are on 204s. It's an ugly rim on 204 cars.
07 Sport rim > anything.
07 Sport rim > anything.

No I have the 06 sport rims on my 05 sport.. for today, anyway. Tomorrow they're being swapped for 07 sport rims because I'm about to leave right now to go meet up with Drew.
I like other rims (like the C32/55 AMG ones).. I'm just saying what my favorite is. I'm surprised you can't remember since apparently you know everything about me.

Some quick crap pics done in a hurry before rain after I washed the old banger. Will take some better shots - I need to take at a lower perspective. I have compressed these from 5MB each & they are falling apart - hope they help. You I'm sure are looking for a lower more squat look. I have explained my reasons for running stock although our stock is lower than US stock on some cars. In the flesh the car looks OK. Remember these are 17 X 8" so very conservative compared with what you guys do. Tyres Michelin PS2's 235/45/17 all round.

I like the meaty tires, got a little bulge even. What size tire do you have? And the wheels look great. Nice to finally seem pictures of the ride behind the legend!

Tyres Michelin PS2's 235/45/17 all round. Wanted to go 245 all round but at ET 32 offset a 245 just touches the front strut at the dimple - did a test fit so that is accurate & I did not want to run spacers. If I poked the fronts out any further they would disturb the aerodynamic skin effect on the car. That little bulge achieves comfort without having to drop tyre pressures. That's one of the many reasons I'm against fitting undersized tyres to rims & stretching them to clear the fenders. The other is that it's plain dangerous. Also - the PS2 has a large rim protector ridge.

Glyn you're 03 looks brand new! Those rims are a nice touch.. I was unsure of what AMG rims would look like on a non-Sport car, but it's good. Have you cracked 50,000 miles yet? Not sure what the kilometer conversion is. Interesting option packages, there, too.. Bi-X and Parktronic but no sunroof..

Just done 61,000Km/38,000 miles - We have no packages here just tick the box for what you want - much is standard here on an Elegance like full leather etc. The sunroof was not much more but I did not want one - R4500 at the time = $642. The sunroof has given crap in every car I've owned with one & you actually get fried in SA & I am follically challenged.
BTW - The Michelin PS2's are approaching 10,000Km now & are wearing perfectly - absolutely even & no front shoulder nonsense or feathering. The benefits of correct wheel alignment & correct tyre type & width for the rim selection. Zero tyre noise to speak of.

hmm first 203 i've seen with mudflaps. I think I might have to get a set after seeing yours. Did you have to drill holes in your body to get those installed?

They are the genuine heavy rubber flaps from MB Germany. A must in SA if you want any paint left. They are available to fit all Benz skirt etc types. (Elegance, Avantgarde, Sport etc.) They are held on with very potent clips & 1 screw each into the inner fender shrouds.

Random bump:
How did I miss this thread? :p Glyn, your car looks like its brand new Do you know if the w203 w/o the sunroof like yours has more headroom? I personally never use my sunroof and would be completely happy without it.

Im currently thinking of changing my wheels as well, but this time i think i will be keeping it on 17", more than that i think i will compromise my ride comfort.. And i dont think i will be lowering it either.. The road is too bumpy over here..
