Adjusting rear toe W203

Owing to the adjacent bulkheads, there’s scant little space to fit a torx bit into those eccentric adjustment bolts.
Recently had occasion to verify alignment settings on a friend’s über-sophisticated Hunter machine.
That he owns the local Michelin dealership permitted some judicious tweaks.
Was pleasantly surprised to see that my jerry-rigged DIY techniques had produced results within 1/16th-inch and/or 1/8th-degree from those intended. There’s no denying it rolls a bit more freely after properly adjusting in a 0.00° thrust angle – as evidenced by measurably improved highway fuel consumption figures. Took the liberty of increasing its rear toe from .31° to .63° (total). Preliminary shakedown cruise indicated increased directional stability upon encountering pavement irregularities, during trail braking, and improved aft traction upon corner exit. Will update this thread with tread life and wear pattern findings in due course, and after the next HPDE.
I’m hoping it'll remain in the same zip code as nlpamg’s mighty M5 before our session is flagged.

Does doing the rear toe involve tightening/slackening the 70Nm nut at all ? Or do you just rotate the bolt until the toe is correct ? Thanks

You must loosen the bolt, but be prepared to some surprises. 1st, the typical 12pt bolts are used, 2nd the bolt can be impossible to loose because of aluminium corrosion, when the car is old.I had to cut the whole bearing out with an angle grinder.
