Broken Glove Box
Here is a list of whats wrong with my glove box. I hope someone has a fix.
1. The internal gear mechanism that opens the glove box slowly wont stay in. I can get the notch (pin?) attached but after a few days it works its self out again. Now that wouldn't be such a problem if it wasn't for 2. This problem has gotten really bad since it got cold out.
2. Both the left and right rubber stoppers are cracked. When this is coupled with the first problem touching the latch to open the glove box causes it to pop open violently and fall out onto the floor.
3. It seems like some of the internal gear teeth in the slow open mechanism are 1/2 broken off down the middle so I probably need to replace that too.
So I need new rubber stoppers and somehow to get them in, and I need a way of keeping the gear mechanism in place (screw?). Has anyone had to do repairs like this before? Is there an easy way?
