I was thinking of having my front brake calipers painted red. How well do you think my ride will pull it off? Wasn't sure if it would still look good just having the front done. The back ones are small and look like **** so it would be a waste of money to have them done as well, i think.

Um why don't you just do it yourself? Get a can of high temp engine paint and clear coat which should set you back like 10 bucks. Just tape off your rotors and everything else you dont want to paint. Sand em down and paint them. I did mine over a year ago and they still look just as good as they did when I did them. And I pressure wash them and clean them with all sorts of things lol.

ive heard people do that but i dont have anything to jack my entire car up to take the wheels off at the same time. the paint solution would most likely dry before i cud finish.

You'd be able to do at least two before it hardens, if you do them one at a time. Though a good jack from Harbor Freight is fairly cheap, and you should really have one anyway. It's about $80; mine jacks up one end of the Benz in 4 pumps.

Hmm, now this is making me want to do mine. Do most of you guys just leave them on the car, sand them down on the car, and then just paint as much as you can?

Thinking about just doing mine black, and having some Merc stickers made in silver to throw back on there

I just did mine purple I used duplicolor metalcast which gives the anodized look, its also a high temp paint. You can get the paint at any parts store for 8 bucks if not you can get duplicolor engine paint or VHT engine paint, both are good as well. Heres some pics, ill have better ones later when I clean the car.

I painted my brakes one at a time with the jack from the trunk (Not reccomend) but I never got under the car. I painted, waited 10 min to dry applied brembo decal, clearcoated, waited 10 min and carefully put wheel back on and lowered car then moved on to next wheel. Took a bit longer this way but w.e it came out awesome.

Heres a pic of my car

Nice! that turned our really good. Are you supposed to clear coat over the decal? like is that necessary?

I clear coated over the decal to protect it and make it last longer. I would deff reccomend to do this yourself, worst case scenario you mess up and get runs or w.e just sand it down and start over. Its not like youll mess up your car or anything. You can put that 200 bucks to way better use.

Yah forsure man 200 bucks is so much.. Use the jack from your trunk it works perfectly fine ive been using it for 3 years to jack up my car. Just make sure you use the wheel stopper it comes with.

heres the kit you can get at pepboys which i got

http://www.amazon.com/Duplicolor-Per.../dp/B000B6AF80

It comes with everything even the brake cleaner. Its an easy job
Caliper Paint Kit goes on with a brush so theres no need to remove the calipers before painting.

Mine have been painted for over a year and still look great. I still have the can of paint for touch ups
