I think that'll go well with your "Microphone Seat Massager"

check it:

09+ SLK350 (red stripe) has diff heads, intake, and 82mm TB (up from 74mm) than the c350

SLK350 shares the same heads with S400 & ML450.
S400 and ML450 share intake manifold and TB with the c350.
Using powers of deduction...
C350 heads can accept SLK350 intake manifold, which in turn can accept the 82mm TB assuming the electrical connector is transferrable... that said, the c350 shares the same 74mm TB as the 01+ e55, which the e55 can switch over to the MB OEM 550 series 82mm TB in question by mere plug n play.

In total conclusion, the factory w203 c350 can accept the 09+ slk350 intake manifold and 82mm TB.

I've not only used EPC, but the e55 forums, as well as Jerry @ EC, and folks at MMP.com wading through this information.

The point?
It's known by now the regular m272 is starved for air at upper RPM. The SLK350 has a 7200 redline, up 700 from the c350. To allow the breath necessary to continue the powerband, intro the upgraded intake mani (found only on SLK350 09+ and SL350 08+) and the 82mm TB (07+ 550s, gl450, et al)

Interesting stuff, even though I can't reason out a practical application.

there isnt a practical application. only an extreme one. its just interesting to see exactly what was changed amoung the two.

but its fun for me to research this out. i cant accept vague references to whats different, it drives me crazy.

EDIT for fun:
part numbers in question
"SLK350" cylinder heads: 2720106020 & *6120
throttle body: 2731410325
intake manifold: 2721403001

Trust you’ll thoroughly document before and after performance, preferably at the ‘strip.

Cherry picking? Who me?

But thank you - I'm proud of my research.

I'll document anything I do that is off the beaten trail. I have yet to be to MO-KAN dragstrip since my move to KC, but I'll do what I can for the sake of precise results.

Superchargers are typically used now because of space constraints and engineering constraints, since implementing a turbo is fairly expensive in engineering, materials, and space. The advantage of turbos is that they use exhaust energy that is typically wasted in NA and supercharged engines, which superchargers use mechanical energy from the engine. So, let's use arbitrary numbers and say that a supercharger at a certain peak rpm range adds 80hp. It costs 40hp to operate it, so the net gain is only 40hp. Turbos consume much less, in terms of losses, especially since they rely on wasted energy. The reduction of exhaust efficiency is significantly less than the power loss with a supercharger (especially roots type) and also has a smoothing effect on the outgoing exhaust pulses. Some companies have done quite well, like MB, in making superchargers with variable usages like turbos, but that's still the bandaid- they are trying to make superchargers more turbo-like, while turbo technology has come incredibly far, even in the last 5-10 years, so even at that, a SC is still behind. What is causing trouble for the turbo is the need to use larger engines in small engine bays, like the V8s in compacts.

I think he mentioned he found a totaled SLK350 (red stripe version) and he wants to buy the head and other parts. It'll be a fun project.

Are there any PDF's on actually removing the engine from our cars? The m272 specifically.

A V12 BT was dropped in an E Class. From what I heard it's a very hard job to tackle and I'm sure it's very expensive to do.

It's too crazy. The owner breaks traction at 90mph.

Today was a hot day, had wheel spin at 90 mph lol... And this is on low boost.

Thank you for your time.
