The W204 recall was to re-torque a banjo bolt that had not been torqued correctly in assembly.

Cale is spot on in his analogy.

Let us know how much this costs to fix!

my guess is that you're not hurting anything more than it already is. the pump is just plain out not running efficiently. you need to get on startekinfo.com, log into star wis and print off the instructions for replacing it. otherwise maybe someone will post up a .pdf. or as eric calls it, being "spoon fed" lol. i hope its not a big deal to replace. maybe oreilly does core exchanges on these? i dunno.

THE C350
Enjoy
I would not drive the car because I would be scared to do more damages. If any metal particles got into the steering rack i can't imagine that would be good for it.

If the pump is generating wear debris you will damage the rack.

Wow. forget what I said. if you actually have metal shavings or not, not worth the risk to ruin the rack to find out!! thatd be awful.

...a panty dropper...
I had metal shavings like I said earlier go down into my rack and it was not cheap! I took it to a shop and got there quote for the full job, then called the stealership and they said the rack alone from them was the same price as what the shop quoted me for the full job!! A refurbished rack too! It costs me $1600 in the end to get a new pump and rack! GL!
