Another O2 Sensor post - P0160 & P0161

I just pulled P0160 and P0161 codes after the CEL went on in normal driving in a 320 with no modifications. Mileage is 80K. The codes are:
P0160 O2 sensor circuit no activity detected
p0161 o2 sensor heater circuit
The scan tool also showed these messages when monitoring sensor data with engine running:
fuel system 2 status: closed loop, O2 sensor fault
fuel system 1 status: closed loop
Should I suspect a bad DRIVER's side post-cat O2 sensor?

Also, if I need to replace the sensor - should I go with the OEM Bosch for about $103 from amazon.com (part 16183) or can I install a universal Bosch (part 15733) to save about $60?

Yes

Bank 1 = 1, 2, 3 cylinder (fuel door side/passenger side US - Bank 1 always contains Cyl 1 - OBDII convention)
Bank 2 = 4, 5, 6 cylinder

P0160 O2 Sensor Circuit No Activity Detected (Bank 2 Sensor 2)
P0161 O2 Sensor Heater Circuit Malfunction (Bank 2 Sensor 2)

Sensor 2 is the downstream sensor.(i.e. post Cat)

Only use Bosch OEM sensor not universal/generic even if it's Bosch. They always give crap on a Benz.

I bought an OEM Bosch sensor from amazon and installed it this past weekend. Cleared the CEL and so far it did not come back so I am hoping that this problem has been fixed for good. Installation is very easy - used an O2 socket to remove the old sensor and a 22mm open wrench to install the new one. I agree that it's worth spending a bit of extra money to get the OEM sensor with appropriate connector for your car. Eliminates any chances of messing this job up basically and takes the guessing out of it.

Thanks for confirming the diagnosis Glyn!
