ESP Disable?

We have a thunder and lightning snow storm right now and I almost did not make it to my driveway tonight due to ESP. Driving over 2 inches of slush and snow is no problem with ESP halfway off as long as it's on plane roads. But unfortunately my house is on top of a hill, abuot 100 yards of 18 degree incline and on the top is my driveway on another 10 yards of 10 degree inclined .

Is there a way to completely turn off the ESP of 2007 C230 sports automatic? I tried holding on the ESP button for about 5 to 10 seconds and the ESP light just came off thus leaving the ESP on. My clutch was in bad shape by the time I made it to my garage.

Thanks for any input.

You don't hold ESP button, just push and release, you should see yellow trianle light in instrument cluster means ESP is OFF.

Yes you are right, that's what I meant by halfway off because when you push just once the triangle light will come on. But with that on it is not completely off, when I start slipping and sliding the triangle light will start blinking to get me straight.

The reason why I was asking about holding it for few seconds is because other ESP like my Jeep GC works like that.

ESP will not be completely off by pressing the button. Please STFF since this has been covered numerous times.

Dude if you knew might as well have wrote what had to be done instead of STFF cause i also wanted to know and would have been easier to just find it right here when someone asked instead of digging to find an answer.

If someone wants to answer please can you tell me as i would like to know as well how to turn it off.

Hey brother, so you want to completely turn of ESP? If so then you have to put the vehicle in dyno mode. Dyno mode will turn off esp and also abs so be careful.

Hey Karo is there a way to turn off only the ESP and not the ABS. I know how to get it into dyno mode and it turns both off but would like to know if you can only turn off esp?

We're working on a module to kill ESP but preserve ABS ... should be a big deal once it works on everything.

I should have made a statement about ESP not turning all the way off isntead of a question format. But I appreciate all the input here, now I learned something new that I can pass on also.

BeepBeep, I don't think there is any way of doing that "as is".

That'll be great!! I always get jealous when the BMW guys hold the ESP button couple of seconds and it completely turns it off.

Roger that. I'll try the dyno mode this weekend just to play with it.

Yeah that was some snow storm. I left McLean at 3pm heading 495 to 95 south Oh my god i thought i was going to die. It was snowing all the way past richmand and speeds of like 30 MPH. I was in my dads g8 gt with crappy tires to wich did not help at all. I Heard that it only go worse and there are cars all over the roads stuck. Glad you were able to get your car home safe. My w203 is still in the shop so i won't get it back till next week some time.

Just woke up and there are still some cars stuck in GW Parkway, 10-13 hours later according to the news. I know the feeling of that, I got stuck in traffic once during the East coast ice storm 2 years ago for 5 hours in my Jeep on a 25 miles drive home.

If I turn the ESP off with the button, it allows my rear tires to spin freely - good for snow. Does your car still interfere?

Also, if you use dyno mode to play - DO NOT DO DOUGHNUTS You will kill the PS pump.

Thanks for the dyno mode heads up, I don't do doughnuts (except with coffe ). I go to race track on their skid pad if want to play like that.

I had to put it like that because so many people kill their power steering system with good hearted messing around in dyno mode and then get butthurt when we tell them it wasn't designed for such.

Yeah, I understand what you mean...it's a good advice all the way around. We don't condone doing doughnuts in my other furom either.

I appreciate that this is a very old post... but did a module ever get made, either by Speedriven or anybody else?

Looking at other posts, it looks like Speedriven is now out of business.
