Sorry bro I don't know. But the more you cutoff, the harder it's going to be on the shocks, which will lead to eventual failure of the stock shocks. I rode on lowering springs and stock shocks for a while, and it didn't ride very well. It had bounce to it since the shocks were too soft for the shortened, and stiffer springs.

You really should invest in stiffer shocks if you want to go lower.

Before

after Car is dirty =(

I still think i could go another coil. Springs still had to be fully compressed before i could even put the top part back on. Im sore tired and time to relax =D

4 1/2 finger gap down to a 3 finger gap i think one more coil would bring me down another 1 1/2

I haven't cut the rears yet. Im thinking 1 full coil in the rear and 2 up front? i know people have done this on the older c's with amazing results.

Looks a lot better than before. On another topic, could you get pics of your tail lights? I planned on blacking mine out or just smoking them, and want to see a few examples before I do it myself.

for want of appearance and aesthetics, you're compromising the quality of your
ride. several have advised you properly but I get the sense that your mind is
made up.

the spring rate will only become higher (stiffer) as you cut and if you're seriously
thinking of cutting further, be clear that the spring rates between front and
rear will become unbalanced and affect high speed handling. but if you're just
cruising the boulevard you may be okay.

The ride is the same if not better. The car handles so much better. it feels like the car sticks to the floor in the front now. When it use to be bouncy and felt unstable at high speeds. I drove around 30 miles yesterday around the beach side. It honestly feels way better then before. Car isn't bouncy at all.

Cutting one coil i still had to fully compress the springs just so they could even fit back on the strut.

Im going to cut 1 coil off the rears now because i have a 3 finger gap in the rear which bugs me. The front is sorta low enough for me until i get lowering springs. I would like a 1 finger gap or 2 in the front.

Front lip if they made a nice one for the pre 2005 i would def pick it up.

The rims i love to death!! Ive always wanted these

Here is the headlights i have

I have to re touch up my oem grille from stupid rock chips

it feels better (which it will) because you've changed the weight distribution
to oh-so-slight more front biased. also the 'rake' has been changed so it
will be a scootch more responsive feeling at the wheel. so with the one full
coil drop in front, the increased spring rate shouldn't be noticeable. the center
of gravity will also have dropped a little.

the big unknown: if you like the handling now, be aware what this will change
again, as you clip the rears. COG will drop again, but the weight distribution
will change back.....away from the front and more towards the back. rake will
increase from previous change and more back to OEM.

what remains to be seen is how this will feel to you and whether (and how) the
resulting....even lower COG....will feel versus the return of weight distribution
back to OEM feel.

I honestly think before i got my car it was lowered.. Because the struts were missing the caps at the top. I was talking to another dude who said the same thing. If i cut the rears it may lift the front up some more. Which i dont want. If youve taken out the springs before you would see that they are hugee the metal is so strong i can't even bend the coil i cut off.

Its really hard to say i know people would be against cutting there springs. As i think its ghetto to do! but this is only a temp situation until i can afford lowering springs. Im just tired of getting laughed at or even looked at wrong for having a 4x4 sedan mercedes

Car looks more aggressive now with the front dropped

The best solution to me instead of cutting springs is to go to the classifieds section. Post a WTB springs off an 04 1/2 and above c230 sport those are lower than your stock. Some people will probably even give it to you for free since they want it out of their storage. My set up is H&R up front and rear spring off a c230 sport, expensive by buying 2 sets of springs but i got the height i wanted.

Goodluck

Thanks man that means a lot

The only thing that wasn't plug in / play was the blinkers. My car has its own plug for the blinkers it self which is odd. So i had to cut out the old ones and wire up the new ones. Took about 2 mins to fix. If your car doesn't have its own plug for just the blinkers then everything will be plug / play.

I wired the halos to my city lights. Which i may rewire just so i can have the halos on without my city lights.

Hey cruize u got any pictures of ur ride? I wanna see how ur car sits

And hcalvarez what springs do u have ur car sits just how i want mine

you need a no finger gap haha... thats how I'm rolling right now. When I had my cls wheels and my stock SS suspension I had like 1 1/2 finger gap all around... Here's a pic of my cls with the stock ss suspension.

That looks nice for stock. I'd be satisfied with that if my car was that low... Mine is like yours before your cut. Ridiculous...

believe it is... if not its maybe a pic of my tein s. tech but that only gave me about a 0.5" drop, if that. there wasnt much difference in drop from my ss compared to the tein since I had the ss suspension. The s.tech would give your car about a 1.4" drop I believe. So I sold the springs and stuck with the OEM setup since it was practially the same.
