Removing struts do i remove this bolt

Okay im confused i was reading this

And im not sure if i remove this bolt at the top or not.. I dont want the spring to shoot off. I have all the bolts undone at the bottom but the thing just doesn't wanna come out. do i unscrew this bolt?

yes you have to remove it. Dont worry, the spring will not come apart if you remove.

Okay i got it haha i unscrewed it and then took off the plate and screwed it back in and poped it out to be 100% sure haha thank you again!!!

The center should be a 7mm allen key/hex. Hold that steady and use a 22mm (or 24mm?) socket on the nut.
Once the nut is off the strut assembly should drop out and you can remove the black plate.
Make note of how the 'hat' at the top (strut bearing) is oriented so it sits right on reassembly.

yeah i do i have a 1200 watt rms 12 inch sub woofer installed on my bose system. I dont have the subwoofer in my trunk right now because the box weights like almost 100 pounds.

Do you remember the allan bolt and nut wrench sizes you used for upper wheel hub assembly?
