Ordering Questions

I recently ordered a c230k sedan from LA downtown motors of MB, with c2, c3, c4 and 6-disc cd changer, and I have few questions regarding my order. I guessed I can ask the sales, but just wondering if any of you guys know the answers. Do you know which factory the order will be made? The sales told me it will be in Germany, but are all special order made in Germany? Another question is... the sales never mentioned anything about additional charge for this order, is it right? I don't think this is "special" special order, and I have heard "special" special order costs $1000 more. Also, how long will I have to wait until I get the car? Also, anyone has any feedbacks about this dealer from your p

Thanks!

Michael

Can't answer the question about the factory, except my 2002 C240 was built in Germany. As for the special order charge, that is only assessed if you order an exterior color that is marked as "special order", or a non-standard interior color which may also be available for special order. Only one surcharge applies regardless of how many special order items you have. You didn't mention your color comibnation, but I'm assuming you went over all the option costs with your salesperson before you signed the order. You would definitely have seen the additional special order charge if it applied. In the summer of 2001, I waited exactly 2 months for my car to be ordered and delivered.

Good luck with the waiting -- it'll be worth it!!

Michael,

It's a few months to get your car. I've heard 2 months up to 6 months. You sales guy can tell you exactly, he/she will know.

I chose not to get the C7 package, but people here swear by it. Make sure you don't want it. I do think $ for $ it's the best deal on the car, but I did not care about most of the stuff on it.

Enjoy your car.

Thanks for the answers. By the way, I didn't get the special color, just jet black exterior/charcode interior, and what is the C7 package?

C7 package is for coupes, not sedans, so don't worry about it. The main things it offers is 17" wheels in the same style that your car will have standard. You will hear many coupe owners here referring to that style of wheel as a C7 wheel.

C7 gets you the special 17" wheels and better tires. On the downside, the ride is a little stiffer, the tires wear out faster, and your wheels can get dented more easily (potholes).

It's a great value if you're into wheels and tires. I decided to save my money on this, since I figure even the standard tires will wear out soon enough and I will have to replace them for mucho $$$.

In addition to the wheels C7 gives a coupe owner a different stearing wheel, a leather shift knob, different door sills, removal of the exhaust resonator, a different muffler tip, different pedals, body colored door handles, and if it's a manual transmission you get a shorter throw shifter.

I ordered my C320 Sport Sedan in late Feb, it hit port (in Baltimore I think) last week and I should take delivery within 7-10 days from now. So roughly 10 weeks...

No, you should not have to pay a special order price. Mine took about 10 weeks. Your salesman should give you the vin # once it is in transit.

Good Luck

Considering his post was over a year ago, I'm assuming that he has taken delivery of his car.
