Lights electrical problems - wtf
Hi everyone,
I have this weird problem for some time.
My Benz complains about problems with the lights almost every day.
The problem is that it's not consistent. Sometimes it's the Left Break Light, sometimes the Left Number Plate Light ... now it's the Right Mirror Turn Signal.
It can randomly pop each one of these for few hours and forget about it sometime later (usually after the car rests for a while turned off).
It drives me crazy ... I'm checking the bulbs just to see they're alright. I clean the contacts but it's not it

Sounds familiar? I've searched and couldn't find anything solid.

The mirror issue is kind of a common problem, you can either clean the inside of the mirror where all the wires are or alot of people just replace the socket which is pretty cheap. But check all the connections to see if they are fully connected, if any wires are exposed and touching the frame grounding them out.

I guess I'll start with what you suggested:
1. Mirror issue - Clean and check everything is connected firmly
2. Replace all surrounding light bulbs - I have two sets of replacement already.
Will let you know how it goes in few days.

OK, replaced most of the bulbs for the exterior lights.
Seems that the problem is gone for now ... well, at least no complaints from the Benz in the past few days.
Didn't check the mirror turning signal ... will do when / if the problem resurfaces.
