C230 Coupe Headlights
C230 Coupe Headlights
Are there any aftermarket units available? I have found out thru the search engine here that sedans and coupe don't mix. That's just effing great. Can someone here definitively what headlights (besides dealer option OEM) I can get to get rid of the frosted crap that currently resides on my front end? I'm looking for something like this:

I think I am going to be selling my car soon. I have some bixenon lights, but my price is going to reflect the unobtanium status.
So, I have two bix with clear lenses. $1,300.
I paid $1,700 for them. Also comes with lens protective film.

you can always do a FX-R bi-x retrofit. The retrofit source is a great company if you plan on doing it that way.

i'm pretty sure you paid less than $1700, especially because I ran the group buy that got you the set:

however, these are an extremely rare commodity... so if you want to sell more based on the rarity thats different. i just don't think its right to put up the wrong purchase price for the sake of profit.
i dont want to talk down on the seller or the product.. but just correct the price.

Aw Man, I was waiting to see if Ed was gonna get away with this one,
but no, what a buzzkill! Ha ha ha ha
Mr. Smarty "I ran the group buy" pants.
Well considering the best price you can get these days is about 1300 a side on ebay =$2600,
even more at the dealer, if they are clean, hell they might be worth it to someone.
I mean after all if you bought that much money in Euro's from back then and held onto it,
the same result would occur.
The change in dollar to Euro is resulting in parts being much more expensive.
I don't see anything wrong with charging the going rate.
Hell the lights are probably worth more than Ed's car.

Well, some time ago they said they had one set, but
they didn't want to disclose the price.
After seeing this thread, and so many others like it,
I actually sent an email to Depot to tell them they need to start making
Coupe lighting, they're missing a huge market worldwide.

Personally, I do think the lights are worth more than my Benz now. Any case, My price is firm. Only way to get these babies is to build a time machine, or get lucky and buy a car that has them.
I may get another Coupe in which case I would put these on again.
Any case, that was a solid Group Buy you put together Midnight. It was the best mod I did on my car.
Nearing the high side of my 30s, my memory really isn't as good anymore. Wasn't trying to provide wrong background info. For some reason, that is what I thought I paid. I mean heck, they were bought some 5 yrs. ago.

Heck, I paid 600 to Blake for the privilege of wrenching for an entire day, driving 3 hour RT,
+ my old lights installed in his car.
Though he threw in the tails, and blinkers.
His lights had old bulbs in them that didn't last long after that (+$100), and the
plastic was crazed, so I have to polish them regularly.
I woulda been way ahead if I'd bought at the group buy price, but those
days were long gone, so off I went to Fresno, along with Jordan in his car, cash and tools in hand....
had to remove his lights, remove my lights and swap 'em.
That's a lot of work for used Bix, + IF they had been available for $800, but they weren't.
And I coulda sold my old parts too. All in all, my investment in time and parts exchanged was more than 850.
and I'm happy with it.
Ha, 'amember when Evilsport had C32 brakes for $550 with calipers, pads, and rotors?
, no more.
You gonna complain to them now that the price is too high at over a grand because the dollar is worthless? Midnight, come out the dark.. he he
As the old saying goes, what the old group buy got to do with the price of tea in China?
