2002 Mercedes-Benz C240

Noisy front shocks

I have a 2002 Mercedes C240 and in the past month or so there has been a lot of noise coming from the from shocks when going over bumps. Wheres the best place to get replacements and what do i need?

Replace them all at the same time, or at least do both front ones. If you've never replaced struts before, then I'd call a local independent (or more than one) and get a quote. Probably @ $800 for the front pair.

i doubt it is the shocks my shocks had 154k when replaced and were still silent. check front swaybar links and bushings

what kind of noise are you talking about? Is it a lot of clunking or a single loud thunk?

If it's a crunching sound then check your upper and lower control arms as well as the bushings.

Yeah!Check both sides of lower and upper control arms and bushings.I am having the same problem right now.Also check sway link joints as they might have popped off.I will be replacing all of mine along side inner and outer tie rods as soon as i get warmer weather.I found all parts combined for $299.99 with free shipping by MACAUTOPARTS on ebay.Can anyone tell me if they are reliable.I contacted seller and they told me parts are of good quality manufactured by LII CHASSIS in Taiwan with 5year warranty.
