Lightbulb How you rate your Dealer's Service Advisor?

I thought it might be a good idea to provide some rating to your local MB dealer's service/service advisor...maybe MBUSA/JD Power will come look for the actual comments here.

My local dealer : Auto Stiegler, Inc.

Speical request: Xenon=Present, Comand=Present and Netherlands Setting.

Warranty Claim: Remote problem, Passanger side seat, Driver side seat and Engine Oil Stain remove.

Time: 3 days

Cost: $0

Not fixed:
Engine Oil Stain remove - I have an oil stain on top of the engine cover right on the AMG logo when I first bought the car. The stain was not noticable until the dusts starting to stick on top of it. I had try to remove them myself but no luck. Dealer said MBUSA won't replace them since is not broken. (my take: does it suppose to have stain on it??)
Comand - Didn't even do anything...still not shows in the Center Display.
Netherlands- Not set..still no Chrips sound when arm/unarm.

Comments: It's taking too long. Service Advisor doesn't call me for the status of the car. I have to call in to check each day for status. (maybe they are too busy??) They only fix or do 3 out of 6 requests. 50% satifaction.

Its rare that the SA does not bribe u if u actually get a survey in the mail.

if not u can tell them they will get bad marks on the survey if they dont treat you better.

My service advisor is a good guy....he's a lot more informed than the salesmonkey was....it's the service manager that needs an slap and a half.

He also drives an 02 C230K coupé...and was real interested in the AMG spoiler I have. We talked about sway bars, and he agreed the C32 AMG bars would be the way to go. Also mentioned neoprene bushings from the SL would probably fit....

I've taken my car in for service only twice so far. My service advisor has been very good to me so far. My coworker has the same guy, and he's happy too. But really so far, I've only taken it there for "real" problems. I have not asked for any special request yet, like enabling bi-xenon or something. I have to wait and see he's still nice then.

I went to Smythe European in San Jose. Great service and fixed all my problems (nothing major though, just small stuffs). Not sure if they'll do xenon present or command present though.

Yes I also agree. My advisor at Smythe has been great to me during the numerous services over there!

I brought the car for service at MB S.F. one time, the guy there didn't bother to look at me and give me a call when my car was ready!

More Update

I washed my car this morning and find 3 small paint chips (2 on the hood and one on A Palier). The A Palier one must hit by some kind of tool (hand tools) and hood must hit by small object when they took my car for a JOY RIDE (They put 3 miles on my car!!) As you can see, my problems doesn't need any road test.
So not only they didn't take care all my problems and now they add more damage to my car.
I will call them back Monday and won't go back any more...what a incompetent dealer.

Hey Frank,

You got your car at HOI right? Which SA do you take yours to? I used to take it to Brian Edwards but for some reason he's not there anymore. Nobody seems to know anything about cars there. Took them forever to put the comand display on and the netherland settings for the alarm.

Any good dealers in SoCal?

More Follow up today...

I called up my SA today and told him items that he didn't complete and the paint chips. He asked me to drop by before they close today, so I do.
Keep the story short, after I arrived, shoptech comes out and check out what's wrong and pushed the Star DAS system next to my car and start changing the setting.
Comand = Present
CellulerPhone= NO Presnt
Remote = Netherlands (from USA)...I like the sound.

Within 5 mins, everything is done. I show the shoptech how to turn on the Netherlands setting coz he said he didn't know you can do that. :P SA never there when we were doing the settings...oh, well...now I know who to talk to when I need help.

Now I'm happy again.

I used to go to Auto Steigler but the SA was such a jackass A-hole. I got in an argument with him because they put a new tire on my car when i got a flat and charged me a huge price when the tire store down the street would do it for much cheaper.
I remember my last words to him were
"Thanks again ***, Ill be sure to take my car to Calabasas next time"

Calabasas has been great for me. Their service dept. is top notch.

AMGDood,

I take my car to Calabasas too. They have been great to me so far. My service advisor is Phil Fox, he's been very nice to me.

Gee, I can't really endorse Calabasas like all of you when they were so incompetent as to suggest that the hum from a bad differential was the result of the fuel pump. Doh. Also complained about the engine knocking, they told me it was normal. Not to mention that I have a problem with being treated like a bimbo.

Turns out that I had a bad differential (as said before) and a couple of collapsed lifters. Had my car into Stiegler for 3 days, about 10 hours of labor, a short wait for parts, and now I'm a happy camper.

I guess it all depends on your SA. I've heard that Phil Fox at Calabasas is top notch, but my experience was nothing short than a nightmare. Good thing that I was persistent enough to take it to another dealer; can you imagine what kind of cash I'd be shelling out if I waited until it was out of warranty?

Anyway, the two SAs at Stiegler have been great, I guess it's like anything else... sometimes people have bad days. *sigh*
