OK gents, finally it's the labor day weekend so I got some time to work on this. Following MW_ATL's steps, I like to provide additional pictures, and something I did differently on the hood release.
1. A quick look when the panel was first popped off

2. To disconnect the OBD connector

3. This is what I did differently from MW. With the hood release opened a bit, I removed the screw, and then massage/wiggle it out of the panel.

4. I have no idea what CANBus is, but I assume this is it:

5. Now you are looking at the cover just above the brake pedal

6. Push the foam aside and then OPEN SESAME![Smilie](https://mbworld.org/forums/images/smilies/smile.gif)

Did you change the brake fluid? on my c240 2005 I did a brake job and replaced all the fluid with Lucas DOT4. Malfunction warning came on intermittently. I read up that the ABS needs special low viscosity fluid. So I flushed it out with MB OEM brake fluid and problem solved!

Hi,
Goo write up.
I had the same problem on my W203 C200K. I solved it by doing the following:
After removing the original part; I clean it and the contacts using electric cleaner.
Then I noticed the white plastic pink was sticking; So I pulled it forward and cleaned it so it is not stick anymore.
I assembled the part back in the car and hey presto; PROBLEM SOLVED!!!!
