Soo...How are the trannies in these car? Reliable? buying a used c240

I had another thread about wanting to purchase a used c240. So I think I have found a great deal on a 2005 c240, only asking $10,500. It currently has 87k miles and it it the 1.8 with an auto trans.

My main concern is wether not the trans in these cars are reliabel, I am coming from a BMW where they are questionable at best!

So once/if I get this car I'll do a flush/filter change, but i need this car to last another 50-60k miles ATLEAST! You guys think it will go that long without major problems as long as it has been decently upkept? Thank in advance guys!

2005 - C230!

The 722.6 auto box is tried & proven & robust. It will do huge mileage if serviced every 39K miles

People dont seem to have too many issues with those trannies if serviced. But that car is a c230 with the supercharged 1.8 engine aka M271. Check it for leaking cam sensor and all that jazz. Search on here for more info.

^ +1.

O-ring on the 13-pin electrical connector on the trans is known to leak. It's a well-known and relatively easy and cheap to fix. Other than that, some people have had problems with the conductor plate/valve body - but this is very rare.

The key is, as Glyn said above, regular service.

Thank you gentlemen for your help! I went ahead and bought it, got what I believe is a decent deal. I'm gonna start a new thread because I have a few questions about it. Thanks again!
