Question Changing plugs & oil; How easy is it?

Hello all. Ever since my 1st car, a 68 Bug, I have done my fair share of tune ups. I was curious how easy it is to replace the plugs & wires on a 2.3L Coupe and change oil. I know in theory, it is quite easy, but it seems that these days car manufacturers are making cars more and more difficult to do the simplest thing (i.e., changing plugs on a F-body is a real pain in the butt.) Does the 2.3 use two plugs per cylinder? I thought that I read that somewhere but I wasn't sure.

I have been considering a 02 C230 for a while now. I never warmed up to the coupe's styling until I took a good look at some of its stats. 8 airbags, 200 ft-lbs at about 2500rpm, and nearly 30mpg on the highway should make for a nice commuter car that won't get blown off the road like a Festiva by a summer breeze or other cars. TIA

The 230 uses dual plugs. They should be changed every 100,000 miles or five years. The easiest way to change the oil is to use a Topsider and suck the oil out the dipstick tube.

My 2002 C230K only has four plugs. At least that's all I found from the top of the engine under the red Kompressor cover.

I've heard from several sources that if you wait until 100,000 miles to replace your plugs you may find that they have bonded to the engine block. I pull mine every 12 months and clean them with a wire brush - being carefull not to damage the electrodes.

I think the 3-valve per cylinder V6 and V8s have dual plugs, the 4-valve per cylinder I4s have single plugs.
