Alright, so it isn't that big of a difference for me getting H&R springs compared to Tein. I haven't had a chance to install them yet, so I couldn't see how they sit.

I don't have any experience with springs, but how does that work? Are they just shortened springs that are stiffer, so that the car sits lower, but still provides no rubbing issues if the setup didn't run before?

I wouldn't mind making the gap between fender and wheel smaller, but as soon as it moves ever so slightly more towards rubbing, I immediately dismiss the idea.

height wise the difference is little but spring rate will be different. Tein will be more of a softer ride compared to the H&R springs. So on a performance stand point H&R are a better choice IMHO

If you're going to keep your stock wheels and just lowering it there will be now rubbing issues at all. But once you get to different wheels it might be a concern but that depends on your offset.

When you refer to "Komp," I assume you are talking about 2004.5 +

My 2004 C230 Kompressor Sport is much higher than the facelift.

Offset is +1mm, but wheel size is 9.5 rather than 8.5 and tire size is 265 vs 245. Any experience with that setup?

are you sure your wheel offset is +1? Doesnt seem right? with the 265 youre probably going to rub the inner fender. You'll probably have to roll the fender and maybe pull it a little bit.

With +1 I meant 1mm more offset than stock, which I believe to be 34 on 17/8.5/245

No, right now the setup works without any issues, unless I take a fast corner with 3 adults in the back. I wouldn't mind lowering the car a bit, but am trying to understand how the springs work.

Welcome to the forum. Now I'm not the a-hole that slams people, but just a word of friendly advice, please turn of the caps lock or you will get yelled at quite a bit.

Sorry I can't help you with the lowering, haven't done it myself, and probably won't do it for a while down the road.

many members on here have vogtland springs and have good reviews on them. To my knowledge i believe that Vogtland is the only manf. that makes springs for the 4matics unless you call eibach or H&R and have a custom set made.

So, interesting. Reading through this thread, I'm getting the impression that if you have an 05+ Sport(I have an 07), throwing springs on will only give you an extremely minimal drop? If that's the case, which does everyone recommend for ride quality?

If you want the drop and ride quality you must get Coilovers. Coliovers that let you adjust the height and the dampening. An example is Tein Basics just let you adjust the height but Tein SS let you adjust the height and the dampening.

I am also new to the forum and was wondering if Koni Sport Yellow Struts and Tein S-Tech springs would be a good setup for my 04' C230K?

They will be good but for that price you might as well get coilovers. The yellows are gonna run you close to 700 dollars add on the springs another 160.

For that price I recommend this. http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/MEGAN...item3f04f73123

This is a good reliable brand. Also with these coilovers you can adjust the height and the dampening...basically height and comfort (stiffness).

I found a set a Koni Sport Yellows from Raceinspired.com for about 40 for all four and the springs were 160. Does that sound like its too good to be true?

Sorry, i meant to put another zero to the 40 so it would be 400 but anyways, i guess i misread it. I thought it was 214 for a pair of fronts and 160 for a pair of rears. They also have the Koni FSD kit for 610. Has anyone ever used this set?

The FSD Complete kit is 810

I still say you should consider the Megan coilovers. Adjust the height and dampening..you can't really beat that for that price. They are a known company too.

Sorry, I found them on this site for 610:
http://performance.importrp.com/koni.../i-226893.aspx

In regards to the coilovers, I dont really want to be riding too low. Do you know if anyone has ever used the megan coilovers? Also, would i need a camber kit for these?

hey karo your car came with the sport suspension on it right? i have the sport suspension too. is there any advantage to getting the megan coilovers instead? i feel like the stock is already pretty good, just want to make sure i dont get something and go backwards. im looking for maximum performance without completely destroying the MB ride quality.

The pros of coilovers (the ones that let you adjust dampening) is that you can get the perfect height and the perfect comfort. You can adjust how stiff you want the car but with shocks and springs your only limited. The cons of it is they are expensive but the megan one is a real good deal especially it allows you to adjust dampening too. For example Tein Basics don't allow you to adjust dampening but the Tein SS do and I believe it's a 400 dollar difference in price.

Megan or ksport a reputable company's, more in the import scene than euro but they're quality products. If I had the money I'd get KW V2 coilovers. I have tein basic but I can't complain about the ride comfort they are spot on IMO. Friends are so surprised about how smooth the ride is even though I'm so low.
