The pro speaks. How about handling? Will the adjusting dampening effect handling as well or just the firmness?

Thanks

In regards to the coilovers, I dont really want to be riding too low. Do you know if anyone has ever used the megan coilovers? Also, would i need a camber kit for these?
You'll need a camber kit for your rears when lowering your car. It may look like you don't when you lower it but in time you'll see your inner tires wearing out quicker. Tein springs would be ok if you don't have the ss model. The ss springs are actually stiffer than teins in that case. As for the other models it may be a touch stiffer. If you don't want too much of a drop I'd look into buying a setup of ss springs and struts, they super cheap in the classifieds.

Dampening will adjust handling because of how much rebound you'll get. If your dampening is stiffer it can handle turns better you feel less mush but your car will feel like your on a pogo stick. Too soft and it'll feel like your riding in a boat on waves because it'll be absorbing all the bumps on the road. You balance between the two so your car can handle better but comfortable enough when going over bumps and normal everyday roads. You would hate a super stiff ride for everyday driving. You've probably seem some fixed up cars with stiff suspension and the car bounces and moves on every single bump on the road instead of going smoothly over and the struts rebound to take on the bumps. So its up to your preference on how to dial it in. I prefer a little stiffer for performance than a smooth comfortable ride.

When I was looking at air-ride suspensions, a lot of people on the import forums were ******* Ksport. Of course I guess there would be those same people in every crowd, my only issue was that they say on the products that they are not for street use. If they are a quality product, then I may have to re-think my former decision, but then again with a sub in the trunk, I don't know where I'd put the air-tank!

how easy is it to adjust the dampening? if its not too bad, i'll probably get coilovers and just adjust to stiff when i go out for a mountain cruise and then make it a bit soft for a smooth ride on a daily basis

But what if I want to bounce down the road? I'd love to be able to lower it while I'm parked, and raise it up for driving

Air ride can do that. Shoot mb had stock air suspension on the older 1960s cars that did that. When it was put in park it'd automatically lower.

you'll want aftermarket because OEM are going to wear out faster on a lowered car. It'll bottom out and the piston in the struts dont get the full travel it needs. Brands like Koni, KYB, and Bilstein are build for the short springs.

Call up Koni and see if they have any for your car.

2002 C240 (SOLD), 2006 E350
So I'm reading everywhere on forum and off forum that Tein lowers a 2002 C240 lower than H&R and vice versa. Which is it? I can seem to find a definite answer. As you know, the C240 has a high front than the rear. I was thinking of leaving my H&Rs in the rear and putting the Teins in the front for a much nicer look. Any suggestions?

In regards to springs, Tein has a larger drop in the front than the H&Rs but with coilovers its the the other way around. I had Tein Springs on my C240 and the drop was nice but I wanted to go lower in the front so I purchased H&R coilovers. Good luck with the drop. If I were stateside I would sell you my Tein springs but i'm not.

Teins springs will drop your model lower but the spring rate is way softer than h&r and OEM ss springs. You can always look into SS springs and struts. It'll give your car a nice drop and factory performance. They sell pretty cheap in the classifieds on here.

I'm rolling on Brabus springs. 30mm drop both front and rear, on stock struts. Definitely stiffer than OEM but also comfy enough for daily driving (minus the occasional pothole).

People are complaining about stock struts wearing out faster, but I have 110000km on mine (installed the springs at 85000) and everything's still looking good.

I installed some STechs recently and for some reason there is a gap between the upper bushing and the flat piece of metal that goes across it on both sides.

Hey guys...I have a set of H&Rs ****ting in the garage since this winter waiting to be installed. What tools do I need besides the spring compressor to get these on?
Any advice? Thanks in advance.

Well you'll need to take off the shock breakers out, the tires too, but i'm not sure what the tools are called. You'lll also need a jack...
