I'm in the market for some aftermarket rims, yet when I view our thread on pics, I don't see many c230's with chrome rims. Is chrome considered "bland" now with the addtion of so many different styles and colors of rims to choose from? I'm looking at this TSW wheel for a white C230. Impressions??

Chromed rims are tacky and in bad taste. The cheese factor is too much IMO

Chrome rims only have 2 places: wired rims from a Brit or Italian sportscar from the 50's to very early 70's or Crager rims for a 60's 70's muscle car

Get in on the ST160 group buy (in silver), those are nice looking wheels

Depends on the car. Some people have different tastes. I would say get a black, gunmetal or white faced rim.

chrome wheels are not a thing of the past i just think it's up to how the person wants the car to look btw i think the tsw in silver would look nice on white

Thanks for the input. My two choices would be polished silver (for the shine) or white with polished lip. Once I straighten out my budget and get a set, I'll post some pics. The beauty of black and white is due to the many choices for those who have black or white Benz's, especially black.

Chrome is to flashy and you pay a lot more.

Chrome wheels only work if you get curb feelers at the same time.

IMHO, the chrome gets pitted, adds weight, and always look dirty unless you're **** about it, which I wouldn't be.

But, as always, it's your car. If you like 'em, slap 'em on, and stand by your choice.

Silver C

Well they arent exactly out dated, but people have different tastes, i dont like chrome for several main reasons...

They are too blingy on my silver car, they are prone to scuff and scratches that gets extremely noticable. Bad quality chrome will just peel off after some time, leaving you with ugly chrome rims. Also mostly chrome wheels are not in the model that i like either..

benz and chrome = tacky and played out.

there are a couple of guys in my town with their C's and chrome rims and both of them asked if i wanted to trade for their rims.

I dont thinks theres a yes or no answer. IMO a big chrome wheel with brushed or polished lip can look very nice. If done right it can look spectacular.
