Window Tint Percetage Of Choice w/poll

I am going to have my C240 tinted. I would like some opinions from you people with 5% tint... is it too dark? I will be doing the front two in 35% due to NYS laws, but the rears can be whatever I like. I am leaning toward 35%/20% but the option of 35%/5% is enticing. So is 5% too dark?

I've never liked uneven tinted windows - pick a level and do it all around if you ask me.

The way I personally like to see tint done is the same percentage all around.

Some people argue that 5% all around is too dark and unsafe and all this other stuff. I had my car tinted with 20% with 5% on top of it all around, and I will admit it was ridiculously dark at night, but it looked amazing.

I plan to tint my car out 35% all around since I can't afford any more tint tickets, and I see it as a more classy tint with less risk from police.

But to answer your question, 5% just in the back windows is not too dark. If you have trouble backing up using the main rear view, just use your side mirrors.

I like tint the same all the way around myself. I am not a big tint fan, and actually prefer the look of a very light smoke tint all the way around. However, even if you are going dark, I think it looks better when it is even.

I can't understand why anyone would want 5%. It will severely affect your vision at night and during storms.

If you want it dark and want to remain safe and under the police radar then go with 20%. Doesn't seem to attract much attention, at least in my area, and looks good.

35% all around looks best IMO. Anything darker than that really hinders nighttime vision.

Here is my car with 30% Huber Optic Ceramic tint all around:

As you can see with this tint, is it still keeps the same blue hue to the factory tint

The last car I had tinted I asked the guy to go as dark as state law permits.

My Ride
I was not interested in the 5% to hide anything. Rarely does anyone ride in the back, but more to keep the suns rays out. I am used to driving with my side mirrors rather than relying on the rear view mirror. I suppose that is left over from my truck driving days. I have had cars in the past with dark tint, including a Lincoln Town Car personal limo with the little, what I like to call, "gangster" window in the rear that was a biotch to see out of if it was dark or storming. I think I will end up going 35% in the front to conform with local laws, and 20% in the rear. Usually the lighter fronts "appear" darker than they are due to the darkened rears. Not a big fan of two levels of darkness, but I feel the 35% all around is too light for me. Thanks for all your replies.

Im thankin' about doing 20% all around. Quick question, is 20% too dark for the windshield? Should I go lighter??

I'm pretty sure its against the law to tint windshields. And yes 20% is very dark for a windshield. You will not be able to see the car in front of you at night.

Here in GA you are allowed to tint all your windows limited to 35%. It's different for different for states

35% on the WINDSHIELD What? are you a Twilight fan? Does your skin sparkle when the sun hits it? Maybe you are an albino and the sun (even through a windows) causes third degree burns...

I see no practical reason to tint your windshield. All your other windows, have fun, but your windshield should stay clear.

Nah man none of those reasons. Personally I just think it looks real good dark.

That's a nice honest answer (sorry for my sarcasm earlier, no offense meant) Doesn't it get kinda sketchy driving at night with that dark of a tint on the windshield?

Haha no problem man. I honestly don't have any problems seeing through my windshield at night. Only when I back out of spots, I have trouble seeing through my rear.
