DDM Tuning disappointment

Not sure if anyone if planning on ordering HID lights from DDM Tuning, but I thought I would let you all in on my experience so far. I ordered the lights, both headlight and fog lights, in January of this year. Installation was smooth and the lights worked perfectly for the first 3 weeks. After that the right headlight would occasionally give a "bulb out" warning even though the error cancellers had been installed. About 2 weeks later the headlight would actually fail to come on intermittently and after some testing I determined that it was a bad ballast. I contacted DDM and they were happy to replace the ballast, I simply had to mail it back to them. Well, they've had for 1 week now and yesterday I received an email stating that there was a shortage of ballasts and that those new orders that specified priority shipment would be sent out in 2-3 days, while all others will be sent out in 2-4 weeks. When I called customer service this morning I was told that I would not receive mine for 2-4 weeks, even though I paid to have my original order priority shipped. It's poor customer service like this that will make me shop elsewhere in the future. Hope you all have a better experience if you choose to go with DDM Tuning.

Yup, I've been hearing bad stuff about DDM lately. A lot of people have had great luck with VME. http://www.vvme.com/

Good Luck

the ONLY reason i buy from DDM is the price other than that i wouldn't go near them. One time i went to there location in hb only to find a office full of employees standing around doing nothing, only one guy was running back and forth helping customers the line was at least 6 people long. Even in person their customer service is appalling.

If they’re bad enough to **** off lighting expert e1000, that’s sufficient reason for me to never consider giving ‘em a dime.

Didn’t you read their reviews on yelp?

Believe it or not, DDM was actually good and had reliable customer service BEFORE 2010; then they became unbelievably popular for cheap HID Kits.

Now they lag on shipments with their "backorders", and they don't bother to help customers like before. May not be buying from them again, simply because of this.

I'm quite local to them, but still had my order shipped, and got it pretty damn quick. But now that I'm reading a lot of horror stories, not sure I'll do business with them again. I might have just been lucky.

Bought 2 HID kits, a set of 4500k bulbs, and now Depo Projectors for Marco's E46 from them and they've always been great.

I received an 8000k Raptor kit for OEM Bi-Xenon projectors, and the passenger side looks white with a hint of blue, while the driver side is pure white.

Disappointing. I have to pay basically $30 to get them returned and new ones sent back to me. What a rip.

They're very bad. At least with other retailers they're pretty upfront about delays. Don't forget the bulb temperature fiasco.

I recently installed a VVME kit in my Jeep. So far so good, but it's only been about 2 months.
Seems that one is ever so slightly off color from the other. I ordered a 35w 6000K bi xenon kit. Comes with all the needed brackets, fasteners, wires, relays, etc.

Hmm... I purchased 2 6000k raptor v2 kits from them for my fogs and lows... about a few months now with no problems. Back in January of 2008, I bought an M3 kit from them for a e36 325i build. The rear bumper was shipped with a crack in it. I returned it and a new one was shipped the very next week. The kit was great quality regardless of the mishap. I guess it's a hit or miss with them. Or are they just falling apart? Maybe one of their representatives should have a say in this thread...unless they like losing customers

I was driving a while ago and another car was coming with an aftermarket HID kit like my own and I was completely blinded when I looked to see where he was and i'm sure my car did the same thing and this happened on many occasions so for personal safety I removed them and put in some Phillips bulbs they are bright too.

I wasn't bashing the brand. Every brand out there is going to have the occassional defect, it's how you deal with the customer when there is a problem. DDM's customer service after the purchase sucks.

I made a pledge to buy cars with OEM xenon projector type headlights.
