CEL P2767 Transmission Problem
Car is currently at 40,000 mileages and around 39,000 it started to go into LIMP mode once or twice a month. Around 39,500 it gave me the CEL P2767 and it reads "transmission: limp home, speed sensor ring K1 error" I'm due for a transmission fluid service but i was told that changing the fluid wouldn't solve this problem. Now the the car goes into limp mode more frequently.
I tried to search for this topic but nothing came up. Does anyone know if this is a major problem and needs to get fix right away? Plus the cost!?
Thanks

That is likely a production tolerance defect of the speed sensor ring of the K1 shift member. Check this DTB: P-B-27.50/59a here: https://mbworld.org/forums/4585218-post8.html That information is posted in the technical information/FAQ thread sticky at the top of the forum.
I assume you are out of warranty? This will not be cheap to fix, as there is several hours of disassembly of the transmission to get to the bad parts.
Since this is a known manufacturing defect, I would print the DTB, and take it to your local MB dealer and see if they will take care of it under warranty as a goodwill gesture. Either way, I recommend getting this taken care of ASAP.
