You know if I stopped and asked directions at a church with my proud liberal and militant atheist attitude, they'd give me directions straight to hell.
I've got several good atheist friends, who are raving conservatives (like me), HUGE Ayn Rand fans (again like me), and fun as hell to debate! I'll give you my favorite jab... if you are "militantly atheist", doesn't that mean that you want everyone else to believe as you do? Doesn't that implicitly mean that you believe that those who don't believe as you do are uninformed? At that point hasn't atheism itself become your religion?

i'll try to keep my conservative opinions to myself, i've just learned things have gotten so bad and far apart and no one is in the center anymore, either extreme left or extreme right, so...
better to keep my politics to myself 'cause it just turns into a fight. although i do enjoy a good debate, i just hate it when it gets out of hand and people start calling each other "stupid" for disagreeing. that's all it is, just a disagreement and different opinion, as long as you can respect that, it's cool with me

Yeah I try not to get into those sorts of discussions.. I respect fiscal conservatives as a difference of opinion, but I cannot say the same for social conservatives.

I'm liberal in every sense of the word, but passionate only about social issues. With fiscal issues, both sides want to achieve the same ultimate goal - continued prosperity for we and our posterity (preamble memorization in high school never goes away). Differing on how we think it is best to reach the same ultimate goal is not cause for hatred.
Social conservatives and social liberals do not share the same ultimate goal.. it is much, much different. It is here where my issues with social conservatards begins and ends.
