Another watch nut here. I agree with the OP. Seems a lot of car guys are into watches as well. I am into vintage Rolex (well, modern too) Current vintage pieces are: a 1675 GMT from 1966 and a 1603 Datejust from 67.
Big fan of Omega, Vintage Heuer as well. Lots of very cool watch manufacturers out there.
Watches are fun, but can be an addictive, expensive hobby. I see quite a few car/watch thread on various watch forums and definitely see a few MB owners in the mix.
Here's a pic of the 67 DJ and a 16610 Submariner I sold a few months ago.

If you just put your mouse over the link, it shows what it should be, which is
www.watchuseek.com
As a former Gucci US employee, I've got about 10 of their watches, which I thankfully got each for $20-45 at employee sales; they're not nearly worth anything close to retail with their cheap movements and non-precious metals. I do have a couple of nice watches that I do like; a Corum bubble automatic that I'm wearing today (love their limited edition ones), a skeleton automatic from a small maker in Tubingen (just north of Stuttgart, and yes, I did do the Sindelfingen factory tour and Stuttgart MB museum when I was there), and a Boucheron that I got on a special employee sale whe Gucci acquired them (10% of MSPR).
Other than that, I've got the normal Citizen eco-drive for daily use, which never lets me down.
I used to want to get some higher-end watches, but the smurfmobile has had other plans.

Nobody like 'my' Panerai?
Not saying I have one, just love the style.
Watch Jason Statham some time for many gratuitous
watch shots in the original Transporter.

I liked it, kinda... but that's the Ferrari watch, not the Mercedes watch. LOL
Nice Submariner Glyn, I'm a GMT man myself, but I have neither so never mind.

1963 Omega Seamaster
My father bought me my Omega Seamaster in Frankfurt in 1963.I have worn it non stop for the last 48 years & intend it to be my only decent watch.
It has been with me picking fruit, working in ships engine rooms all over the world & later in a power station.
I thought that I had lost it when it fell into an engineroom bilge valve chest & disappeared down the 6 "bilge suction pipe. The bilges were full so I had no choice but to pump them out but did so very slowly . I had no luck when searching the bilge on my hands & knees beneath the 7' geared flywheel doing 100 rpm.
On my next watch over 8 hours later I took the valve chest cover off & could not believe my eyes when I saw it located in a lip next to the non return V/v.
I kept it in a small bottle in kerosene until I could reach a watchmaker .
Photo attached.

A fantastic story.
My first luxury watch was an Omega Seamaster with quartz movement I bought just before I married a few years ago. Although it's not automatic and as 'expensive' as my IWC and Omega Planet Ocean, I can't ever imagine parting with it.

Wow, that is a nice seiko! What model is it? I got some seikos I dont wear anymore I'm thinking of selling (pm me if anyone's interested) but nothing like this!
My dad had a Seamaster of similar vintage. I think my sister has it now. My folks bought me a Bucherer Chronometer on a trip to Europe - mink face & strap - that I treasured as a youngster. Stolen in a house break in.
I even have a number of Seiko's that I've liked over the years in the collection.
