I found it interesting that your 2004 Kompressor had a Bosch Alternator as every 2004 I came across has a Valeo
That is unless you replaced it with a Bosch instead, it would be interesting to see if the car rejects it as other people have experienced that issue

2004 C230 Kompressor
I got the new alternator from Napa Auto Parts and it was sold as a Bosch alternator; however, when I looked at it in detail, it had Valeo markings all over and only one Bosch tag on the side. I've been driving the car for 3 days and haven't had any issues at all with this new alternator.
