i made a few copys of the parts coupon given to me (thanks) and wanted to see if i could use it at 3 different dealers
Dealer 1, i had already used a $50 parts and $200 in service coupons in the past few weeks. today i used a 100 parts coupon no problem. They never read that i was specific to parts or not and never inserted the code.
I think when i didn service, they may have, but for both my brake flush one time and my pads/rotor service, i was givn my 100$ discount
Next i Drove over to dealer 2, to try to use the coupon again.
i had previously used a 100$ coupon there, with no issue either.
this time, after getting my parts with the parts manager and the cashier looking on and knowing i was gonna use the coupon, the cashier says that the person who needs to code the coupon isnt available and if the coupon didnt have my name on it, it was a no go...i knew it wouldnt have my name....so i bailed
off to dealer # 3, where i had already done a trany service with $100 off i went to the parts dept with the same coupon, picked my parts and the parts manager started to put the codes in....he pointed out that this coupon had been used by someone else....i was like dunno who dat is....he called corporate and they were able to find my name in the system and told me i had about 400$ in coupon in my name.....i was like can i use them...he was like sure....it ended up being a total of 250$ that i could use...so i started racking my brain as to what else I should get....
teh manager basically was able to print through his system the ammount of coupons that were put in as my name
imagine if i had never used any faux names
i then asked, check my wifes name, and it showed up $100 , but he didnt want to push the envelope because he wasnt sure if he could even get away with lettng me use 3 in one go.
he told me if all goes well now, give him a call in a day and he will let me use the other...awsome..
so at this dealer 3 i got 260 in parts for 10 bucks
overall i have gotten air filters, pads, touch up pain, wheel caps, wipers for my 203 and 126
oh and the door handle that broke in the c class
the parts manager says in their system, that there is no expiration date...they can find u with zip code and name via there touch point system
im gonna keep on going get parts, as long as i can. service too i can...
The Best of Mercedes & AMG
I didn't go too overboard I don't think... I only used $600 in coupons. Many times what I bought was $150 or more, but sometimes it was a little over $100.
Here's what I got:
1. Carpeted Floor Mats (about $150)
2. All Weather Floor Mats (about $130)
3. Front Brake Pads w/sensor ($125)
4. Rear Brake Pads w/sensor (about $90)
5. Air Filter ($55)
6. Windshield Wiper Blades ($50)
7. Five Oil Filters ($98)
8. Air Intake Hose ($76)
9. Wheel Wax ($15)
1, 2, and 3 I bought one at a time with a coupon. I bought the rear brake pads and intake hose together. I bought the air filter and three oil filters together. Then the wiper blades, two oil filters and the wheel wax together.
I still had a $50 coupon at the end of the day and just didn't feel like messing with traffic to use it. I was going to get a shirt, but didn't see anything I liked.
The cashier at one of the dealers I went to said someone used quite a few coupons... I forgot what he told me, something like 12 or 20 of them. I didn't feel like going that crazy with them! That cashier also had this thread on the forum pulled up today at the counter, and recognized me on the forum from my car!
why do u need new intake hose?
i guess if i list my stuff it goes as
1. c320 wipers
2. c320 key batteries
3. c320 air intakes filters

I used total of $300 coupon for parts, accessories and total of $300 coupon for services for my 2 cars.
Thanks so much for whoever found out this FB promotion and all members who contributed in this subject.

Can you edit your profile so as to give us a clue?
What dealer was the cashier reading this thread?
ha....
VDUB who was dealer 3? Just curious.
Everywhere I went in the bay area they were pretty
uncool though Fremont was cool at 1st but then got on my case on my
3rd visit err ....
I did manage to slip in a last minute oil change.
But after I left it seemed like the valves were a bit noisy like low oil.
I did the dyno mode and checked the amount, sheet I was under 5 quarts
(it always seems to read a quart lower than reality, 6 is where you want to be)
So 2 quarts low? That kinda sux. I put one in that I had with me.
After that, I began to wonder if they even changed the filter, so when i got
home i pulled it to see, and yes it was new.
So they just put in too little oil.
Well, like the Blues brothers said,
waddaya want for nothing?

like i said i was gonna goto the dealer again and see what happens
so i started at dealer 1, where i have used the coupon twice, and they never check nothing....
i had a differnt parts dude today and we started to get prices on stuff, mostly for my w126 all of which was not in stock....i told him about the coupon and he checked with his manager and basically i got rejected.....fine..
off to dealer 3 where last week i was able to use 250$ in one setting...the manager told me after last wednesday to see how it goes and he will see if i can use other coupons that were under other family member names...
So i rolled in there with 7 100$ coupons.....he started to put them in the system which accepted them, but a few of them were under basically NO name, i would just make up address and email an submit....he said he would check with his buisinees manager....he came back and said that becuz they are expired he wont be able to do anything with them ( mind u, these were all service only coupons)
so i thanked him for the effort and for last weeks treasures, but he said wait....he was able to enter the coupons and give me credits on my previous purchases, so nowi have 700$ in credit under my name....
he said that after the company runs it books, and if the dealer gets paid for those credits, he will be able to let me come into the place and spend the $$
first it came across that i would have to spend 700 now, and pay for it, and maybe be reimbursed if MB reimbursed them....but he clarified that , no, he would label it as credits, and if they get reimbursed in the next few weeks, he would call me and let me know.....this guy is the bomb......im gonna take him out to dinner if this **** works

I mean the dealer is gonna get paid, the coupons are like cash.
As long as they get paid by MBUSA they are getting paid, and thats money in the till.
So while MBUSA is doing us a big favor, they also are doing a big favor to the dealer
since every coupon results in X dollars of sales.
But no one here the bay area was quite so cool.
I gotta say you got bigger nuts than me.
When I was at Fremont and the parts guy called me on the carpet and said
'hey you've already used 4 of these and this is supposed to be a one time deal' .
I did point out that there was nothing on the coupon in the terms and conditions
that said anything like that, but when he went to get the dealership manager
to meet me in person, I got chicken and bailed.
They had a photo copy of a previous coupon I had printed and my browser settings
were set to automatically print the date and time in the footer. I learned later I could turn it off.
When I 1st found out about it, I spent the good part of an afternoon perfecting the process learning
how to get $100 coupons consistently and printing off a stack, since i was quite certain MB would realize
they'd made some mistakes, like you could push the back button, not change any info, and print another
coupon with a new pin and that you didn't actually need a new unique email each time since
it wasn't required to print the coupons. I mean you needed a different one each time, but it could be anything.
Also my printer also left a streak in the same place on every coupon.
So they had my coupon on the wall with special instructions to the parts people to
not accept any that had the one date on them. It was circled and so was the streak.
The parts guy caught it and told the cashier not to ring me up.
Ha, so in the end they just F'd themselves.
Your guy was smart. He saw that he could turn those things into cash and get paid!!!'
That's a smart business person.
The typical attitude here was personified by the guys in Shallow Alto,
when I showed him the coupon.
"Well there's no way in hell I'm gonna let you walk out of here with a $100
in parts and just pay the tax".
I said, well I didn't make the terms, MBUSA did and you WILL get paid.
In the end they did do it, but it took 3 freakin' trips.
#1 the guys says no, but he'll check. And the comment about no way....
He calls and tells me, shoot that's the 1st one (coupon) I seen like that,
come on back! Yeah, well it's 35 miles in each direction
I get about 20mpg.
So eventually, I call. The guy who said OK answers the phone, I say
2. I'm coming down. Didn't mention the coupon.
When i get there there's a different guy.
Oh, not sure if I can take the coupon.
Repeat of visit 1.
That's 140 miles now @ $4 a gallon.
So they order some parts for me, and
last night I picked 'em up.
Som' Betches didn't tell me what gaskets come with
the head gasket kit so now I have duplicates, and I spent
around 65 out of pocket.
I tried to return the unneeded gaskets but they won't take 'em
because it was on the coupon, $40 worth.
Also it looks like while I got the valve cover gasket I didn't get
the 'kit' and I'm still missing gaskets while having duplicates of others.
Arrgh!
So in the end, I coulda bought the gasket set from RM Euro for $113
I spent $65 + I drove 210 miles/20= $40+ for gas, and
it appears I just wasted a lot of time.
Well I guess I came out slightly ahead, since I also scored a thermostat and a valve cover gasket
but no orings for the spark plug holes.
Everything at the local dealers is Soooo overpriced.
$100 would barely score you wipers and an oil filter.
I did think about contacting Annapolis and see if they'd honor it
along with their online pricing.
But I never did.

Are you saying you now have $700 in credit and it can be used all at once on
parts or service?
That being said, can I send you my leftover coupons and have you pick up a couple things for me?
Still need a few gaskets etc. for my head gasket job.
basically, if i can explain it right, is the manager applied all my coupons to the previous purchase i made on the 20th, as credits , 100$ each, so when they do their books, they will see that I am owed 700$ and that it is linked to the coupons...IF the dealership gets there money from MB, he will call me and tell me to come in....IF they dont because the coupons are expried or whatever...then I wont get it...either way no money out of my pocket thus far...
the first time i did it, i had your coupon and it came up with your name, and said it was already used, for every 100 coupon , they get 75 back. they said u used it up north etc.
I just played it off like i didnt know what was up with that....thats when he called the MB people behind the scene and they were able to get my coupons based on last name and first initial.....around 250$ I used that all at once
I should hav when i made all my couipons used my real name everytime because then i would have shown 900$ at one go....well maybe this way is better , dunno
i had made some coupons under my wifes name, daughts, fathers etc and some with no name and completely false data
yesterday when we were entering the coupons, it shows all that real or fake data. but the manager was lke, doesnt matter lets see what happens....coolest guy in the world...so i went along with it, why not...ill let u guys know what happens ofcourse
we need to keep an eye out for new offers
