What do you least like about your W203?

Another think I dislike is the placement of the cruise control which is right above the turn signal. Every once in a while, I will push the wrong one down which is easy to do because they are so close.
I also don't particularly care for the rims on my car (C280 4matic) and hope to change my rims to the C230 rims or something similar eventually.
I also don't like that I can't set it to unlock all 4 doors when I come to a stop and turn off the car. I'm constantly arriving at my destination, climbing out of the car and going around to one of the other doors to get something out and its locked. It seems the only way I can change this is by setting the key fob to unlock all the doors with one push instead of two and I'd rather not have to set it that way. If my previous truck could do that, it seems my benz should be able to as well.
All in all I'm quite happy with my car and glad I don't have to list the things about my car that I DO like, otherwise I might be here all night.

I really don't have many dislikes about this car. I do really live my Benz!!!!! One thing I can't stand though is all the crevices and lines that hold water after a nice wash which makes drying the car a biatch!!!!! I would wash my IS250 over my Benz any day of the week. Even though the crevices suck, this is the characteristics of a Benz!

you gotta do the air dry method :op. After a wash do a very quick drive around the area and come back! it works very well!

Why are people complaining about the power? You knew what you were buying. If you want serious acceleration, the C230/280/320/350 are not going to deliver. They're responsive and reasonably peppy given the engine size and the miles per gallon.
Also, why are people complaining about the size of the car and the rear leg room? It's a C-Class. If you want more room, here's a radical solution: E-Class or S-Class.

i don't like the foot e-brake. I thought it was only for SUV's ='(. This squeaky noise i hear coming somewhere from the engine but don't know what it is yet. The POS cup holder has some really crappy chrome on it and it all pealed off. The little chrome left on that cup holder is pretty dang sharp as well. I don't like the plastic door locks, looks pretty tacky.
I think the worst part is the aftermarket for the w203's. There really is not anything to do =(

Germans are good at leaving everything to the options list. Because the brand attracts the buyer and then they can up the price option wise. A Japanese car sells based on the specs not so much the make (with some exceptions of course).

- the fact that the intermittent wipers wipe once whenever you start the car with it set to Position 1. You can't even leave it in that position as a result. I heard they fixed this on the W204 though. Who knows how many "dry wipes" I've done. It's gotta be in the hundreds. Rains a lot around here.
- the cheap plastic panelling they used, especially on the pre-facelift seats (where your hips are). My friends kicked out a couple of panels getting in and out of the coupe, and my friends who drive the same car all had this happen too.
- all those build quality problems, especially during the first 4 years of ownership. Examples include cracking steering wheel buttons, the fading cluster display etc.
- lack of factory aux in, but this was fixed with a bit of hacking
- lack of a 12V cigarette plug in the trunk of the car (coupe)
- as someone else mentioned, the nickel-and-diming from MB. $900 for a CD changer? Seriously?? And don't get me started on a $4600 COMAND that doesn't even read DVDs or the $800 fee for getting blue paint..
- the somewhat ugly cloth seat pattern (pre-facelift). I admit I got used to mine though. It doesn't bug me anymore. Though I don't know why they didn't just use plain black without a pattern
- the insanely soft paint. My hood got peppered with tiny rock chips, before I got a clear bra put on after a repaint. I know they fixed that for 2004+ though
With all that said, driving this car still brings a smile to my face everyday.

I have no idea if its standard or not. I bought my car used and thats what it had. I thought RAINX is supposed to eliminate the need for wipers or at least keep them to a minimal. I'm thinking about trying it out here soon.

I think the 7-speed auto has a couple of gears too many. The thing is annoying as heck when it is constantly shifting itself at low speeds. Especially since the 2.5l engine needs to rev a bit to build up torque.
Wish the info center showed "instantaneous mileage" instead of just "average".
Built in phone system prewire is far more expensive to make operational than it is worth.

Once it revs up enough to 'get on the cam', it really rocks. Balance shaft makes it nice and smooth too. But it isn't a big torquey V-8. So you just don't drive it at low RPMs. Unfortunately, the tranny is kinda shift crazy at low speeds. Once in faster traffic, things aren't so bad.
Of course I am probably preaching to the choir here.

I agree with the damn 7G tranny. Always in the wrong gear. Too low and sometimes not responsive enough. You give it halfway throttle and nothing. Then you press harder and it takes off like a damn bat.
Soo many times I'm stuck in traffic then it opens up and I hop into the faster lane and my foot is all the way down and it just sits there for a couple of seconds or very slowly accelerates then boom...liftoff. Couple of times thought I was going to get rear ended.

Is there anything that can be done to tame the tranny? (Like reprogramming?) Doesn't seem to matter much whether it is in comfort or sport mode.

My car does not do the "dry wipe" with the rain sensing wipers left on. Must be a facelift change?
Also, M271 is torquier than 2.5L V6 so yes, no complaints there. C350 would be nice, though.

You know you can try the Sneaky ECU reset. That tends to recalibrate the throttle and helps. But if you do it and drive in traffic your car is going to be the same but if you do it and rape the car (good 10 pedal to the metal) it will learn to be aggressive. When I erase my transmission adaptations the shifts are fast and harsh but then it comes back again.

There are only a few for me..
Wiper speed is very limited.
Foot brake sucks.
Stupid purge valve ticking sound.
Cheap looking gauges on speedo.
Poor inner door handle.
