Perhaps people are referring to the inner door puller not handle. They seam to be weak. Mine was damaged when the car was still on the sales lot but is now fixed.

ohhhhh like the handle you pull to close the door when you get in? yeah the lining is peeling on mine, that must be what it is.

Yes, that's it - add yourself to the list of complainers.

My driver's side did break on me, too. Oh, and on the coupe, the rear speakers are in just the proper location for being smashed in by the seat belt locking tab - stupid design on both counts. And the seat belt retractors are not nearly strong enough either, while I'm talking about them.

No AUX plug.
Stupid jerky transmission in first.
Cruise control placement.
Knee hits turn signal switch when getting in car, constantly.
STUPID MAIN WINDOW (EDIT; I MEAN DOOR LOCK) SWITCH LOCATED IN CENTER CONSOLE INSTEAD OF DRIVERS DOOR!

Other than that, my car has over 400 hp so I have more problems controlling acceleration than lacking it. I don't care for the dry wipe thing either.

Sorry I meant door lock switch. I was half sleep when I typed that. As for the power, I think I'll just baby the throttle instead of trading. Maybe later lol.

Its good to have a thread to vent on isnt it? I would be super surprised if I had no replies who-so-ever.

I agree with a lot of you on some of the issues but others such as, windscreen wiper, cruise control and indicator placement/utilization for me isnt a problem. Maybe its because its designed by a German for people who think like a German and I am German

  • Tjhe 2nd little seatbelk stopper buttons came off this week, so thats another thing to add to the list of dislikes.
  • Inner door puller quality
  • Windscreen wiper speed settings. All ok but there should be a constant intermittent option, not just auto and then fast.
  • Only one cup holder in my Aussie model
  • No AUX lead standard
  • whizzing noise when the climate control is set to high fan speed.
  • More legroom in back [but you cant really complain as everyone sits in the back before buying a car]
  • No fold down rear seats is annoying of a car that starts at $60,000 in Australia
But the vast majority above have been mentioned on this thread already.

oh, the door lock switch actually doesn't bother me too much cause i don't really use it anyway. i like the auto unlock when you pull out the key and open the door and the auto lock when you go above 5mph.

and in addition to moose, i also was pissed about the non-folding rear seats, i feel that should be standard in any car. first time i took the car to go snowboarding, i spend half an hour trying to figure out how the seats go down to learn that they actually don't so i had to take a tarp and wrap my back seats and put the snowboard in that.

I actually really like the cruise control stalk. Much better that the weird, you have to look down at the switches, location on the steering wheel that most Japanese cars have.

When I get a loaner, I do really hate the W204 stalks; the turn signal is down too far. It feels very odd by comparison.

+1 on the w204 turn signals, i test drove a new c300 just for fun one day and when i went for the turn signal i was like WTF this is in an awkward location.

i have to agree about the inner door handles. they scratch too easy. theyre even worse in the bimmer. i have fold down seats. 60/40 split.

I guess I would be the same. Although the stalk in its current form is not a bother to me, if I had my wish list, steering controls AS WELL as the stalk. So when you go into your menu for all the other items, (trip PC, lights, odometer, temp etc) there should be a cruse control function.

1) Definetly the foot brake

2) Intermittent wipers act up...intermittently

3) The oil sensor, tensioner, and pulleys that I had to replace.. soon to be the p/s pump<-- actually all cheap if done by yourself

4) last but not least, "Turn signal, Left Mirror" Message that pops up once every 2 months for 3 seconds, then goes away....another big WTF (light works perfectly fine, but it insists on telling me otherwise aparently)

Thats about it, This car loves heavy abuse and commutes... so shes a keeper.... for now

If you open one door all the doors unlock. Also the paint just bothers me, it's way too thin.

not on mine. my car even remembers what if i only opened the drivers door or passanger doors and unlocks the doors accordingly. i think you can program the remote to change that.

You have a oil dipstick? My car docent have anything of the sort. It's BS and it scares me a little but that's the facts. I've heard of people's oil lvl sensors going out too.

i guess i should go double check but i'm pretty sure i checked the oil in it once and there should be a dipstick. that was a while ago though so maybe im just imagining. but it doesn't seem right for ANY car to not have an oil dipstick???

Hey, my last car was also a Probe GT (93 Rio Red, grey interior w/ 5-speed manual). I absolutely loved that car. Sold it with 189K on it. It was so much fun to drive. And now my current car is very similar to yours. I have an 05 C230K, automatic in Capri Blue Metallic (a little bit lighter than your Diamond Black Metallic. Absolutely love my C230, but I do miss the manual tranny.

See my avatar....that was the speedo in my Probe GT.

damn dude that sux! i don't think i'm having this problem with the paint, there's a couple very minor chips in the front bumper but that's normal with any car over time('cause all that sh*t flies up from driving down the road!)

That's pretty fast! I sold mine when I needed to spend $2000 to fix the A/C - don't remember the mileage but it was at least as high as yours. After that I got a Chevy Malibu. I often wished I had spent the $2k, till I got my C230K. I had just bought my wife's '06 C230 when I found mine. It has a 6MT and that sold me.

My C230K is a nicer car (more expensive, too!) and gets better gas mileage. So far, it's working out really well.
