KwiK, your installation looks like it has more "puckers" than the other two, and I don't mean the slight "gathers" at the top of the seat. The one that really bothers me is the area where the driver's seat insert meets with the outer bolster area. Also, the outer surface of the passenger seat looks like there's padding missing. You might want to go back to your CST shop and see if they can fix the padding and reinstall the covers again. Just my $.02.

Does this mean you don't like it?

Excuse me fellas. I was just trying to be sure Kwik gets the product and service he should be expecting. It's not my car, so I'll stay out of it from here onward.

If you look carefully again at the pics, you'll see that Kwik's installation is nowhere near as tight as the others. Renncpe's pictures are the best for showing this. Look at the passenger seat. Renncpe's bolster area is nice and taut, and the side part of the seat back is very smooth. Also, the inserts (the red parts), especially on the front seat backs, are snug where they meet the outer bolster area. In comparison, Kwik's passenger seat side area has a noticeable sagging, or indentation. Same with his driver seat back, on the right upper "corner" of the insert. A definite lack of padding there where it comes together with the outer seat area.

To my eyes, there's a definite difference. I was just making a suggestion.

Edit: No, I do like it -- I just thought your shop may have a different process. I'm sorry I brought it up...

Leather

I was told that as the leather stretches the puckers will diminish. After a week I’m to start working the seats with a leather conditioner to help the fit. Has any one else heard this?

I hadn't heard that but the doofus that dropped my car back off to me didn't have anything to say about the leather.

I have had it conditioned once so far at a detail shop though.

Maybe I'm just not very picky, but I got just what I expected from an aftermarket kit.

If it gets too bad over time, I can just take it back. CST includes a warranty.

While I agree that they all look very nice, Mark's observations seem valid.

It looks like Kwik's car has been dieting a little, and there are those indentations that he mentioned. It doesn't look as tight on the seats.

It might have to do with what renncpe said about some of the seat stuffing being attached to the cloth, and they didn't add it back, or it could be that Kwik's will look a little tighter with some more time, it could be the lighting, it could be the camera angle, or it could be that we're all too picky.

Randy, I heard that about the leather also. The guys at the VW vortex who have had this done have said the same thing - after a while, things tighten a little, and the job looks better after a couple of months.

Kwik - don't take this as me saying that your leather looks bad. Your seats look great, and I agree about aftermarket leather; I'm not expecting perfection either when mine's done in 5 DAYS! Getting close!

maybe it's camera angle, maybe it's lighting, maybe it's in our head once Mark mentioned.

don't get me wrong, I myself plan to get the CST leather myself in the near future. Just that comparing all three, the Kwik's insert area (Benzo's biege, renncpe's red) on the back of the seat does look a little flatter than the other two.

they all look great!
