Carlsson C-Tronic / Battery Disconnect Questions
Hi Guys
I'm driving a 2006 C320 CDi with 48k kilometers on the clock. The vehicle is still under motor plan and basically in brand new condition.
I'll receive my Carlsson C-Tronic within a weeks time.
Question 1: I believe I have to disconnect the battery when fitting the C-Tronic? What happens when the battery is disconnected - will any information on the vehicle be lost and do I have to do anything special when reconnecting the battery?
Question 2: Very important. Will the dealership be able to see when and for how long the battery was disconnected?
I'm worried about this, because I want to remove the C-Tronic before services. I'm worried that they'll question me on why the battery gets disconnected before services?
Would appreciate advice!
Thanks

Out Of Control!!
There's a sticky at the top of this forum that gives an exhaustive list of what may happen when you disconnect the battery.
As far as Question#2, as long as you don't have faults related to disconnecting the battery, the dealership should have no interest in whether or not you disconnect the battery at all. There's nothing illegal about doing it, so their ability to tell if you've disconnected the battery would not be relevant.

Hello
I Have a C220 CDI ( Portugal ) and i have a Carlsson C-Tronic Box...
1º -You Dont have to disconect the batery, ( to put or remove the Box ) just remove the key from the ignition, open the hood, and you are ready to go...
2º- Why do you want to remove the box, just because of going to the dealership, do you have any kind of waranty ??? ( if your car is from 2006 i think your waranty was expired )
3º- Carlsson is a very well recognized Tuning Company, and there products are TUV aproved by German TUV, there products are not China made, so why are having some concers with the box and the dealership ????
