Thinking about painting my w203 c230k flat black
Just as the title states. For the months of march and April I was on an internship for school. I was driving from Kissimmee/Orlando area to largo which is on the west coast of Florida. It was a 200 mile daily commute 98 miles each way and 2 hours each way. It was brutal! Most of it was highway driving but my w203 got hammered by rocks, debris, and other sh!** that was on the road. So needless to say I need to paint the front of the car, and maybe the front fenders. So I wanted to know of anyone has ever seen one of our cars in flat black. I'm not planning to do this anytime soon. I was just kind of entertaining the idea. I would like to see what everyone else thinks about this. Thanks.

I've seen a C32 Flat Black and it looks real nice. It'll cost more than just respraying the front but I'm a fan of Flat Black so I say do it. But be careful I have seen flat black but it looks like crap like it just got out of the shop and they forgot to paint it but then Ive seen some that look amazing. I guess it's the shop and knowledge they have.

I have pics of jokerwrlds car if he doesnt mind me uploading em.. I kinda want to do it to my car too since the front needs paint.. Especially after seeing the chargers in Fast Five haha.. I'd only do it if I decide to keep the car till the wheels fall off haha.

I don't wanna vinyl wrap it because just like you said karo, the chips are a decent size so your spot on with it not covering some of them so well. I am a fan of flat black too. What's the guys name with that coupe? The main reason that I am really thinking about doing this is because it would be cheap. My father in law has a booth at his house. He has a couple of blower cars over there. 69 chevelle ss and 70 roadrunner all tubbed out and stuff. But anyways, he has painted his cars and they look nice. I have also had experience in bodywork and spraying also. Granted I'm no where near the best, but the only part I struggled in was getting the paint to have that really nice glossy clear coat. Laying down base coat isn't that hard. I am in no way stating this to be cocky, I am just saying I'm pretty confident that we could probably do a DAMN ALRIGHT job.

Ok. So after looking at some of the pics I figured out what I want. I'm going to do paint just because for me it will be cheaper. I only have to get paint. Plus I can take out some minor dings and other stuff that bothers me. I'm going to go with the stock color just matte. I just don't want to have to paint all the jams and under the hood and all that. I think it will look good. My father in law is pretty good at painting. I might even see if I can get some sort of metallic with the matte paint.

Yeah dude I say do it with paint, they have metallic in flats too its just harder to match if you spray stuff separately. Im sure the cost of paint wont be more than vinyl since the guy who used vinyl on his coupe said it cost him about 800 bucks and he did it himself.

The guy that did it was from canada so it might be canadian money but that was vinyl anyways. Paint can be cheaper if you have hookups and just pay for paint. I would do single stage like this

Vinyl runs expensive, especially the good kind... but I'd think to cover the whole car you should be able to find some for $400-500. And you don't want anything less than good especially since you're covering your whole car.

3M Ni Doc Matte Black is the only way to go IMO, Otherwise you're going to wear yourself out trying to get regular Vinyl... Even High Performance Vinyl to lay straight the first time.

I was looking at going a Matte Red with my car since its already red and wanted to do something different. All looked well until I got the quote of $2500 from a shop in Hollywood. So now I am going to take my money I make on this deployment and get an E55 when I get back.
