Great question. There is a mathematical equation that will answer it. However, in reality, I have never seen it be the case on any modern Mercedes (or other German car for that matter). The aftermarket brake companies tend to take into account the stock master cyl. size and account for that. Brembo for example uses a caliper from Ferrari and one from Lotus, both have piston diameters taht work very well with OE masters.
