C180 Stalling - No Codes - Help!
Hi All,
I have a C180. It stalls intermittently and sometimes fails to start when the key is turned(not sure if related) have to turn key back and try again etc.
It has been into Andy Gayle (Mercedes Specialist) they have replaced the CPS and flashed the ECU to the latest version etc
But i still have the problems and no codes are being reported. They are unsure what to do next! So i have taken upon myself to investigate, hence the post.
After looking at some posts, can it be the MAF? I have disconnected this to see what happens. But i was expecting the engine management light to come but it has not?
Or do you think if could be anything else?

Clean the MAF.
What mileage has the car done? It could also be fuel system related. When last did the car have a fuel filter. The filter could be clogged & the fuel pressure regulator is in the fuel filter. Only use genuine Mahle filters.

With the MAF disconnected it has still stalled twice! Once after startup and once before reversing.
The car had an "A" service last week, so i'm assuming the filters were changed then, but i think it is only oil and oil filter for a "A"
Looking back on the service book fuel filter was done 22-01-2009 21,835 miles
Car has now done 33,747 miles
I will investigate the fuel filter and report back - thanks!
I am also awaiting an ELM327 from ebay, so i can get the sensors up on laptop, so i might be able to see what the car is reporting when stalling?
