P0173 code before a trip
Hi all,
My wife just got a P0173 code today ('06 C230) and she's going on a trip (probably about five hundred miles total) tomorrow. I've read a lot of the postings for the code and it doesn't SOUND like an imminent problem, but I want to make sure - I don't want my wife stranded on the side of the road outside of East Nowhere, Virginia. The car is in warranty so my plan is to make arrangements to take it to the stealership next week when she gets back.
Should I worry?

P0173 = Fuel Trim Malfunction (Bank 2)
There should be some accompanying codes - eg O2 sensor or too rich etc.
It's likely triggered by a dirty MAF or a suspect O2 sensor.
Nothing that should cause the car to stop along the roadside.
Check vacuum hoses for a leak.

We took my wife's car in for its A service and they noticed that the spark plugs had been changed (different brand maybe?) and that the CEL was a result of the air filter housing not being seated properly! Does this make sense? Is there a trick to it?
