Where are you? Some markets had different suspension settings?

Here is my C240 Elegance at 63,000Km on stock suspension. The car should be nose down. I don't know where you are measuring. Front wheel arches are higher than rear.

Sorry - these pics are not perfect for what you are trying to see but will give you an idea. It would be interesting to know what size rear spring pads are fitted on your car.

Slightly off topic.
Your car looks great Glyn. I like how you kept her pretty standard yet added the after-market (AMG?) wheels. Very classy!

Thanks anon. Yes - I like subtle.

I spec'ed her the way I wanted her new. Here we can tick the box with the plant close by. I ordered her with the BiX, heated light washers & clear fogs, Parktronic, full leather, CD changer, mud flaps etc.etc.

All I have done over standard is: 235/45/17 tyres intead of 205's. Replica AMG split rims & updated mirror repeaters.

Super nice. I respect and enjoy reading about the Mods here, I personally prefer a Mercedes spec'd car myself. Yours is very nice.

I am fortunate the previous owner spec'd my car with petty much the same specs yours is. Yet I think most came with the sports upgrade. The one thing I would have wished for would be the seat upgrades to include full electric adjustment with memory and heating. Yet it's not necessary, just would be nice. I have not seen many C class with the seat options. Perhaps it's very expensive. I've heard if you option them fully, your taking E class money and people might just go for the bigger car.

Since the front arches are much higher than the rear you are getting a false measurement. You have to measure to a standard point. You don't measure by the gap either.

Measure under the car from the jacking points to the ground.

They are genuine Benz. Made in Germany. Available for all skirt styles. A must in SA if you want any paint left.

The ride height of a car is normally measured from the top of the fender arch to the bottom of the wheel rim. This negates any effects of varying tire sizes, or tires that are underinflated/overinflated. It is only good for measurement comparisons of side-to-side, not front-to-rear.

I think if you want something other than a static drop go with the adjustable ones..with those you can set any height you want...

This looks like one of the early NA cars that had the nose set high for pedestrian safety reasons. Your rear looks fine to me. Your nose is too high for stock (versus newer NA cars). Some suspension settling does take place but I don't think your car has a fault.

There are no front perch pads on a W203 like other Benz models so your choice is to raise the rear with a thicker perch pad - not a good idea. Or change springs to achieve your desired height.

Yes you can - and as a bonus that would get the aerodynamics right.
