C180 Kompressor engine swap
Hi,
I have just aquired the above vehicle with a seized engine. I have access to another engine with block and head. I am looking at replacing the engine and just adding the ancilliarly parts from the old engine.
My question is, how do I stand with the ECU and security system?
Can I just use the system on the old car and just change the engine?
Will the ECU require resetting from a dealer or will it just be a straight swap ie. new engine in turn key and it starts?

If you are using all the electronics from the old car you should be fine with doing a sub assembly & head change.
