Ventilation Question

On my 05 C230 SS, It seems like it's always on recirculating mode. I make sure on a/c controller that it's off but never get any air with a/c or heater turned off. guessing something is blocking air flow?? any ideas? is it an easy fix? or do i have to take it in??

My C240 is doing the same thing. The only difference is the air flow to the feet is always on regards of what mode I put it in. Curious to see what feedback we get.

I am wondering if we can block the outside air from coming in permanently, is there a fix for that?

Even if im in the inside air circulate mode, the smell of diesel or trash can still come in slightly. Imagine stopping or driving behind a diesel powered garbage truck...

Finally took mine to the dealership today, they checked it out and said everything checked out fine. But I am still not getting outside air throught the vents when i turn off the a/c and/or heat. is this how c230s were built? no that can't be right? something is not right here.... anyone??

Mine is the same, I think they built it that way. Unlike other cars we don't have a button to switch from recirculating to direct outside air. All we have is a recirculating button. But I do notice that after driving with the ac on for awhile the recirculating light turns off and for some reason the air blows harder, and if I turn it back on the air lessens. I think its just one of those mb quirks.

My gf Lexus has the recirculate button but beside it is another button that has the arrow starting from outside to inside the car instead of a recirculating arrow. This will engage to allow outside air to come into the car.

if you look through the ac guide pdf around here somewhere i think it said something about this. Even on recirculate it still brings in outside air just not as much.
