Oil leaks

My 2003 C320 Sports Coupe (with 96,000 kms...57,600 miles) has developed several oil leaks and the estimate from the stealership is as follows:

!. Main bearing oil seal: $878.60 (parts and labor)

2. Oil pan gasket: $595.26 (parts and labor)

3. Valve cover gasket $261.09 (parts and labor)

Total: $1734.95

Has anyone had these items done and if so, are these estimates out of line?

Thanks!

Do you know where exactly the oil leak is coming from, or is it a combination of all those things?

Apparently oil is coming from a combination of the 3. It's not too bad but I've noticed more on the garage floor recently.

You never really notice a leak with our cars because they have the plastic shields.

I am a little sceptical that your car has developed 3 oil leaks all at once. Main brg & oil pan could be one of the same.

I would either check where the oil is coming from myself or receive another opinion from a reliable independent mechanic before spending all that hard earned.

Remove the Plastic pan, clean all the supposedly leaking area. Wait for 3-4 days and check the areas again. If the oil residue builds up again, then you have the correct leaking spot(s).
