Squeeking noise some mornings
Hi all. I'm not too concerned about this but I thought I'd still make a post.
Every now and then my C200 does a squeaking type noise at cold start. Its not all the time and only sometimes. You can only hear it when you are outside the car. It almost sounds like a squeaky wheel or the belt.
I remember it did this when I first took possession just over a month ago. Showed an MB specialist the car (wasn't making the noise at the time) and he said he cant see anything wrong and the belt and 'wheels' (sorry, really bad with mechanical terms) are all fine. Dealer said they will look at it if it keeps happening (still under dealer warranty).

Should be the belt, I have the same problem on cold start. Completely goes away after a few minutes and never pops up again during the whole day. Only happens when I heat up the engine every morning before I go to work..

I think thats your ac fan belt.. The air conditioner fan is located on the inside of your left dashboard. You can see it if you open your hood, facing the car, should be on your right. But I dont think you can access it from there.

A/C fan chirp is common. Lubricate the squirrel cage bearing on the fan motor with light grease.

Next time I hear this noise, I'll switch it off and see how it goes.

Hi friends,
I shot a short video of the noise. Happens on cold start sometimes (by cold I mean Australian cold, no snow and in an enclosed apartment garaged). Happens with climate control off.
Worth getting looked at now or wait until service (about 8000km away)?
The noise sounds loader than in the video. The squeek that is.
Video is at an angle. Sorry, I'm not be best u-tuber.

When I turn up the sound I can hear a slight noise which is in sync with your drive belt.
When you hear the noise on start up you could stop the engine & spray a little water on the drive side of the belt. This will lubricate it for a short time . If the noise changes or disappears then it is the belt & I think I remember you have recently mentioned installing a new one.If so I would not worry.
If the noise continues unchanged I would suggest checking all the pulley bearings , alternator & A/C ect. An ear to a steel scewdriver in place of a stethoscope can be used on accessible components.Careful not to get caught up in the belt.
Good luck.

The noise is only very short lived. The noise disappears pretty quick. I drove for less than 20 mins and no more noise. Only really happens in the mornings too.
