Hi
I need to replace the Camshaft Bolt part 271 050 01 71. I have a 2005 c230 k and after replacing the Cam Timing Adjuster Magnet give erro P0010 "A" Camshaft Position Actuator Circuit (Bank 1) and P0013 "B" Camshaft Position - Actuator Circuit (Bank 1).

any help will be appreciate

 

I'm sorry I'm not familiar with the M271 motor but here are the documents that I have for the camshaft.

While replacing the intake valves on my old C230 I broke the front of the that exact camshaft bolt off removing the cover plate:

My friend removed the cam sprocket:



And used this genuine OEM Mercedes tool to hold the back of the cam vertically while twisting the front nut off:

MB P/N: A 203 *** ED UP

On a more serious note:

If the cam is still in the car and you just need to loosen/remove the bolt off the end there should be some flat sides you can put a wrench on and twist it off.
If you have both cams exposed you might want to put a wrench on both. One to hold it steady and the other to apply power. Otherwise the engine might try to turn over as you turn 1.

 

Hi i was just wondering if i need to use the special tool to take this bolt off and if so does anyone have a link where i could buy one please.

 

Ayy bro did you figure out if you need the alignment tool kit just to get off the cam bolt ? I just need to get the bolt off too to clean but not tryna order and wait for the tool kit if I don’t need to take anything else off
