W203 bigger wheel size, safety mode?

Hi all,

I recently (about one month ago) installed 18 inch replica AMG rims on my W203. I went from the standard 15inches to 18inch.
Today the car went into safety mode (or I think it did). Doesnt really want to give all its power, after 2500 rpms. It holds back.

Could the difference in rim size be a cause? And if so, is there a solution?

Thx,
Stijn

Right now I have 225/40R18 92W

I went to my dealership today for a Star Diagnosis. They said the airmass meter is at fault. Will be replaced tomorrow.

Never the less Id still like to know if changing rim size plays a factor.

Regards,
Stijn
