O2 sensor replacement M272
I was trying to help a friend replace the upstream o2 sensor on the right side of the engine, after an hour of doing gymnastics in trying to remove it, I gave up. I tried from below with a spanner, through the top with a crows foot and many extensions, it is a bizzare angle that nothing fits or gives you any leverage. Unless you are a Smurf I have no idea to get to it. Also if once I remove it how do you thread the new one in because my arm and hand will not fit either way, again I would need a Smurf to help.
My M271 engine is a piece of cake to do the O2 sensors but the V6 from a 2006 is impossible, is there something I am missing? I have lots of experience working on all types of cars and this is the first time I am stumped and gave up.
