So I ran the actuation test. You run it between 10% (off), and 90% (Full) in 10% increments. So, 20%, 30%, 40%, 50%, 60%, 70%, nothing. Then at 80% is made some weird clicking noises and after 30-40 seconds or so the fan sprang to life. Now the damn thing works at all speeds just fine
So, is it the motor or the PWM controller? Hard to get to the controller/terminals to test further. I suspect it is the controller, since the motor runs fine.

Matt, no this does not change my plans with the car. Still plan to keep it long term. Since I can do all my own repairs, it is not too horrible. I hate the American mentality of cars as throw away items. I have the opposite mentality. Buy new, meticulously maintain, and drive for 15-20 years. Is it frustrating sometimes? Yes, but fact of the matter, is the car is paid off, and I would be lucky to get what, maybe $12K (considering mileage, and the car has been wrecked). No way in hell I can get something as nice for that money. Then there is NO guaranty, that is would be more reliable. I have learned one thing, and automotive reliability is a crap-shoot, period.

John, once you have replaced 105 you might want to send your old unit to a module repairer for diagnosis & repair. Then you have a spare.
