Which coilovers go the lowest?
Buying a 2005 6-speed c230 k in a few days and am gonna be ordering coilovers the same day. Which go the lowest? I already have spacers and wheels to clear the coilovers. I have heard that h&r go pretty low but i want dampening adjustability. k-sport? tein? what do you guys have?

Ksport goes low but if you want adjustable dampening and going low you'll have to shell out around 2k and get the KW V2 or Bilstein PSS9. Also if you go too low your handling is going to go to **it FYI... H&R coilovers go really low I think 2.2" front and 2" rear but since its a sport model i'm assuming it'll go a little bit lower since your rear spring pads are #2.

can your tein basics go any lower then they are now? I want to go superrrrr low haha but i want a stiff ride as well. I am looking into megan and ksport because they have dampening. Anyone have experience with either?

damn that is slaammmmmmed. My friend just put coilovers in his MK5 GTI yesterday and I thought that was low. It looks like an off roading rig compared to that
EDIT: What are the wheels on the (Jetta/Golf cant tell) behind you? They look sick! Look almost like the Miro type 111s.

i'm maxed at the front and have 1/2" i can in rear. You're not going to want your car to sit at an even level, you'll want that natural forward angle MB put the car at, they did that for handling purposes so if you drop the rear to low and lose that angle you're car is going to feel loose even if you have stiff springs.
I'd go with Ksport over Megan for our cars... Ksport is a proven brand unlike Megan. Even though the H&R arent adjustable they are a stiff but comfortable ride and are great quality for our cars. Many people go with them because they probably drop our cars the lowest. I cant go any lower on my car really because I'm less than a pinky gap from scraping going into my garage.
but if you really want adjustable dampeners for a good price go with the Ksport, only probably I dont like with them on our cars is that the dampening knob is on the bottom of the strut instead of on top where you can just pop the hood and adjust.
I personally would lean towards the KW V2, nothing but good reviews from everyone who has them. But since I DD my car everywhere I'm going to get the KW street comfort next or the Tein SS.

i'm the only one that's anti KW...HAHAH have seen quite a few blown shocks from KW and one friend even bent his front shock just from normal driving. they do have life time warranty however like Bilstein.
personally i'd pass on ksport or megan racing's coilovers. the H&R will give you enough drop that you want.
megan racing do make those RED-G forged wheels tho and those quality are superb and i've seen them first hand.

Are there any updates on which coilovers give the most low with the best ride? I'm trying to order a set this week but want to know what you guys recommend. I'm going for the stance look.

H&R's go pretty low if thats what you are looking for. If you are going for the uber dumped look, I'm not sure why care if they are adjustable dampening or not. It will ride like crap no matter what.
I can vouch for the KW limted lifetime warrenty. I've had KW V2's for along time now. They lasted me alot longer than I had expected mileage wise and abuse. I understand any suspension will have its wear and tear over time and may have multiple factors in causing failure. Was actually thinking of getting a fresh set or trying out another brand since I knew I was overdue. Had an issue with the KW coilovers not too long ago, and had them sent in. They replaced 2 struts under warrenty and rebuilt and revalved the other 2 since I wanted a match set, they tested and inspected and returned. Total bill was a complete bargain vs. purchasing a new set or a cheaper application even with my hook up pricing through a vendors. Cheaper than just getting springs and install. I couldn't be a happier camper. The KW's performed to my expectations and customer service exceeded from my own personal experience.

I have H&Rs and i know for a fact they go pretty low. The first time i got them installed my car was slammed, lip on the cement slammed. I had it raised a bit to give it a bit of a raked stance. The handling is definitely there but if you want dampening... then pss9, Bilstein, BCs..

I ordered the BC's yesterday. Thank you everyone for your input. I can hardly wait til they come in so I can put them on.
Until then I need to figure out why my brake like are not working. Stop switch maybe?
