05 M.B. C240 4Matic, BATTERY ALTERNATOR BRING TO SHOP red alarm came up on computer
05 M.B. C240 4Matic, BATTERY ALTERNATOR BRING TO SHOP red alarm came up on computer dash board. Shortly after, the abs light on the dash came on, the radio shut off and said LOW VOLTAGE. I checked the battery when car was off and it read 11.8 volts(supposed to read 12.6 volts). I than removed the alternator and had it tested at good ol autozone,(sorry mercedes dealer). They determined the alternator was bad. I "guess" that means I need an alternator and I should just slowly trickle charge the battery that was slowly loosing charge due to the alternator not charging it???? Any thoughts? I think you found the root cause of the problem. You can have the alternator 'rebuilt' ... much cheaper solution than having to buy a new alternator. While you have the alternator opened, have them check the voltage regulator; that's known to cause problems as well.

Ok, I'll do that than!
Just realized another problem with my car!
The drivers side pull handle to shut the door seperated from the door panel. Meaning the top part of the grab bar popped out of it's socket if you will. Is there a screw that might have come loose or do you think it cracked? Not sure yet? Thanks!

I agree, here's the thing, how do you remove the grab handle? does the whole door panel have to come off? I tried to remove the 2 torx screws off and the top part of the handle came out but the lower part of the arm next to the arm rest will not come out of the door panel? Where can I find the grab handle for $30? Thanks Boss!!

Try parts.com they have a good price. My dealer wanted $60 but price matched parts.com came to $40 with shipping so that's how much I paid. See if your dealer will do the same.
